Hi - I made a discovery yesterday - out in Southern Corvallis, behind the BMX track (across the street from the indoor soccer place) - there's a completely overgrown off-road RC car track. I actually was looking at the BMX course to see if it could be used for RC cars (I don't think it is - too many blind spots, and too narrow) - but then as I was leaving I spotted something strange looking behind it - and as it turns out it once was an off-road rc car track. Now it's covered in grass and weeds. I spent a couple hours there today cleaning it up - and I found various fragments of RC cars showing that truly it once was driven on by RC cars, but it's definitely been a while.

Anyways it's going to take quite a while for me to clear it out myself - so I'm hoping to find some help if anyone else here is in the area and is interested in a track. So - anybody else around?

I don't know if you fellas are still around or not, but I know about that track out south of town. It has been there for about 10 years, and about 3-4 years ago, myself and about 8 buddies all got back into RC. We found that track doing the same thing, looking at the BMX track as a possible playground. We spent 2 days of a suummer weekend rebuilding this track and cleaning it up. When we had it back up and running, it made for a pretty fun little thrash track. The problem was that kids on their BMX bikes would show up and ignore the signs we posted that asked them to only ride on the BMX track and not the RC track. After they rode it, the jumps got broken down and the track became really rutty. It was too hard to keep up, as we didn't have a gaurd to tell the punks to stay off it. I am currently with out an RC, as I am preparing to dive into my next project: Brushless monster truck or similar. I love RC and really don't know anyone around here that has the same freakish obsession that I have. At least that is what my wife calls it. Let me know if any of your Corn-Valley folks are still around. Thanks!
