Hey! I have a few questions to you about this truck you showed me tonight at chat that can be seen here http://www.rccaraction.com/pics/4str1.jpg

Firstly, Why is the brake linkage going in the opposite direction? for just looks? And also, what tooth is that clutch bell? it looks like a 24, and the spur, looks smaller than the 3XNT's, and why did you put Al screws on the engine mount? shouldn't you be kinda concerned, especially with the 4 thumper about breaking the screw?

Either way, that truck is sweet, cannot wait to see it in the mag!

I'll try to answer some of the questions...

about the brake/throttle linkage: it isn't hooked up in the pics. Steve probably rotated it forwards to give us an unobstructed view of the engine =)

About the gears: by my count, the clutchbell is 25 tooth and the spur is 42 teeth. You need taller gearing because a 4-stroke rev's much lower than a 2-stroke (but it has the torque to push those tall gears.)

And the screws on holding the engine to the engine mount look like black oxide steel screws to me. The ones holding the brake to the tranny though are blue aluminum. (I think, it's not my truck! I can guess from the pic though).

And yes, the 4-stroke GT does look awesome. I want to see the test myself. If it's promising I might have to draw up and CNC myself an intake manifold that clears the body, like Steve did...

The entire brake is flipped around to the back of the brak disc instead of the front to allow clearance for the HUGE diameter clutch bell.
The gears shown in the picture are a 41T spur and a 24T clutch bell. Those gears are probably too tall even for a four stroke with a final drive ratio of only 4.46:1. I will likely shoot for a FDR of about 6 to 7:1.
The screws holding the engine to the mount are steel - you're looking at the blue aluminum screws holding the tranny brace that are standard on the FTGT. Iv made a few changes to the truck since this picture, including the tranny brace and intake manifold.

Cool Buddy, I do know, Gokuo, that they need to gear it so high for that engine----just to clarify that.

steve you think the chassis can handle the power of the four stroke?

No problem. Total power is about the same or even less than a 2-stroke, it just delivers the power in a different manner.
