I want to make a track in my back yard. How do I make it. How do I make jumps. And how do I cram it all into a small area. I have a rc10gt, so I will have to make the most of my space. I plan on having A long srtaightaway (as long as I have enough room), a single jump, a double, a rhythem bumb section and a few tight turns.

I suggest using a Duratrax KWIK RAMP on all of your jumps whether singles doubles triples what have you it is an inexpensive way to make a good offroad layout

Making jumps can be as simple as small mounds od dirt or you can make them out of plywood and 2x4s. The main thing is no matter how high the jump is the incline should only be 30 to 35 degrees. If a lack of dirt is the problem then you can use a filler underneath. On my table top I took a 35gal plastic drum cut in half(top to bottom) laid one behind the other. Cover with dirt. It took about half as much dirt to do it this way. If you have any more particular ?s just yell.

I just made a track in my back yeard, just use dirt, dig a big whole or something in your back yard and ya got all that dirt, or dig up your neighbors yard! If ya have dogs like i do your jumps wont last long, they seem to just HAVE to walk all over them. but anyway back to the jumps, the way i made mine nice and stiff is to pile dirt a little at a time, wet it a little (but dont make sloppy mud)and pack it down by stepping on it, keep doing that in layers while wetting it and it will be nice and stiff. keep watering it everyday, or it will turn to dust.

Here's a tip: Use a flat peice of ply wood about as big as the jump and obout six inches higher. Then get some 2x4's and stickem by the jump so the board will hold. Then the jump woun't crumle.
You can see what it looks like in the RCCA race coveadge of the Team losi winterchamps.

It'll help if you have a tilling machine if you want to make a real dirt track. I know a guy that rented one from Home Depot for the day, and proceeded to till the entire track that day. It'll tear the grass out & allow you to work the dirt with a rake.
As for the jumps, just pile it up and flatten the surface w/the back of a shovel. Get the right angle, and you're set. They're incredibly fun to make. Especially the one a buddy & I made at a track out in Orlando...I had my MBX-4 jumping completely over my head---almost as high as the driver's stand!! http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif
