View Full Version : Yokomo MX-4??????
Can anyone tell me about the Yokomo MX-4 besides that it is the 1997 IFMAR 4wd world champion. If that is the case, then this is Yokomo's only competition off road 4wd? I have seen the MR-4BC but it looks like an entry level car to me does anyone have one? I thought about the Losi XX-4 but I would rather have the yokomo. Can anyone tell me about the avalability of hop ups for it? any help would be appreciated.

I have owned the MX-4 and raced it for 1 season. It is a good car, built tough but prone to blowing the rear belts if slipper clutch is to tight. The car is ok on smoother tracks but on rough tracks your best bet is an XX-4WE. Also lots of work to keep the diffs clean on MX-4. The MX-4 also is discontinued so replacement parts are and will be a problem.
I own a XX-4WE now and it is a better car, less maintanance, excellent in the rough or on smooth track and is more consistant. The XX-4WE has made me a better driver and I can drive it faster than my old MX-4.
I've been racing 4WD Mod for 8 years and have driven them all but without being biased the XX-4WE is the fastest, best handling 4WD off road buggy in the world.
Thanks for the feedback Fish, that will help me make my decsion. I was steering toward the XX-4we anyway! Thanks
