Hello everybody i have a traxxas Rustler and the reverse went out on the XL-1 ESC. The forward postion is real slow so i switched the postive and negative terminals on the motor and now it operates just fine but you have to press forward like your using the brake would this be bad on the motor doing it this way? Because im getting a new motor tomorrow its the 19 turn trinty speedGem. So i asking if this will damage the motor or eventally damage the ESC? Thanks for the help................

Jeffro. . . . .Get a NEW ESC.
-The set-up you`re using now is messing-up your motor.
-When you have problems like that; it`s time to replace it.

Get any ESC you would like.

Take Care.

I can`t completely explain it; but it as something to do with putting the motor in some-kind of reverse power.
I`ve heard something like that can damage the motor.

I like to Play it Safe.
-When something isn`t working right.....I replace it.

Take Care.

sounds like you blew a power transistor for the forward half of your speed control. The way you're using it shouldn't hurt your motor. It's still spinning in the correct direction so the timing isn't retarded. If you want to have the throttle work like normal, try changing the servo reversing switch for the throttle channel if you have one. If you do this you'll have to switch the motor wires back like they were.
