I have a t4 and I will be running a Lehner 3100 when it gets here. How would a 10cell 2200mah pack compare to a Lipoly 2250mah 3S 11.1V Pack. Is this a pretty even voltage on both batteries?

The reason why I ask is because the lipo pack would be actually cheaper than getting a 10cell 2200 pack plus I believe its much lighter. It may be a no brainer to some but I havent made the lipo change yet so I have very little knowledge about them. Can anybody predict the run time on each or share any info about this topic.

Well, I run a Lipo in my RC18T, which is a little different.

For me, the Lipo was much lighter, and by size packs 2.7 times the energy as the nimh. I didn't weigh them, but it feels a bit lighter than the 6 2/3aa's it replaced.

The battery may be cheaper, but consider 50 bucks for a charger, and find a good fireproof place to charge and store the battery.

When I see the word fire and lipos in the same topic, it reminds me of how scary they could be. I'm guessing a military ammo can would be an ideal place to charge them in. I can always look around army surplus stores for one.

I'm also good to go with the ice charger. A recent upgarde that I havent regreted. I was just wondering what the runs times would be. If I can get 10 minutes out of the lipos. I may just consider them.

Well if you have room for 10 cells of Nimh, then you can fit whatever lipo setup you want in there. One of the great benefits of Lipo is that you can carry twice the Mah in the same area, so why not look into 4400+mah lipos? Then you'd really get the run time you're looking for.

I've driven my RC18T for 40 minutes and not hit the low voltage cutoff, so I know you can do better than 10 minutes.

You can fit 9 2200mah cells before you have to start stacking them and zip ties will hold them securely.

4400mah sound nice but the price tag on it doesent. The 2250 lipo pack I mentioned was going for about $60. This may be a great time to get into lipos since I wont be wanting long runtimes. I would just have to get the safety stuff first like a good charging fireproof can of some sort.

TC3, I am not familiar with that motor myself but you may want to find out many amps that motor will draw to make sure a 2250mah pack is going to work. I am assuming that it is probably a 10C rated pack which means you can only pull 22.5amps out of the pack.
I run 2 packs of the 4400mah PQ packs in parallel = 8800mah in a T3 with Feigao 7s and I get tired before the batteries do.
You got the charger for them so you are half way there. Initial investment can be steep but ask anyone in here that uses lipos and most will tell you thats almost all they use anymore.
