I own an Associated B4 and a Traxxas Rustler so i know the basics about racing but now im looking to buy a touring car. What are the reccomended cars to buy? Im looking for somthing that i can just drive around whenever i want to and maybe do some racing sometime. Also im on a 14-yearold's budget. Thanks in advance.

well, not to be rude...but everyday someone asks this question. Your best bet is to search the forums.

Look at the TC4 or an HPI. You can also get a used TC3 very cheap these days.

if you want to race indoors and outdoors go with a tc4 or 3 but if you just want to race indoors go with a rc10l3 touring (its a pan car)

As previously mentioned, use the search feature of this site. Lots of great info. Try "best touring", "best onroad car" Also look at the "tc3 vs XXX-S" debates, shaft or belt debates . If your on a budget, once you decide which car checkout E-bay. You can get an excellent deal on a TC3 or XXX-S right now, because the new versions have come out. The Tc4 has replaced the TC3. And the new Losi JRSX has beed released, so people are selling the the XXX-S. Also, with the release of the new Belt Drive Yokomo, the MR4TC SSG or CGM can be had at a great price also. Do your research, buy a car and have some fun.

Thanks for all the help. Also im not going to race right away and now im just looking for somthing to drive around my neighborhood. I have been looking at the trinity t-spec and wanted to know if thats a good choice or not. I was thinking that the ride height might be a problem with all the rocks on the street. Do you have to have a compleatly flat suface to drive on or is the street ok? Thanks for all the help.

The TC4 RTR would be a good option. The molded chassis works well for unprepared surfaces and parts are widely available.

I would recommend a good used TC3, very good value for money, I have two - one pretty hopped up (BMI carbon chassis, alloy hubs, lightweight outdrives etc) for indoors, and one thats pretty much standard team but with lots of graphite on that I use outdoors, that includes street bashing, and sometimes a bit of rally. Also been known to send it flying off curbs at pretty high speeds and the worst I do is strip the front steering arms (alloy ones readily avilable, I have some on my main one), so I'd recommend it for what you plan to do. Obviously a brilliant racer, my TC3 will keep pace with a TC4 and others no problem, for racing the only upgrades I would recommend really is a graphite chassis and alloy front steering arms, this cuts the weight down and the front steering arms like I say are what I've found to be the weakest point of the car.

Find yourself a Pro 3 that is in good condition. The car will probably be really cheap then upgrade it to have a graphite chasis and that will stiffen the car then you will be ready for racing or just to drive around.

Dear Nitro Racer,

Unless your local track has a T-spec race series, I wouldn't go with the T-spec. It is not very upgradeable (by choice). Is there a local track in your area? Go talk to the drivers, see the actual cars in action.

I don't know of any on road tracks in my area but if i was going to race in would buy a Tc4. How does this car look?Click (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=34063&item=5976499966&rd=1#ebayphotohosting) Thanks for all the help.

Get a xmod lol.. once they are fully tricked out they do like a bat out of hell!

And it costs approx £150 to for the car and all the parts to trick it out with. I'm not sure how much that is in bucks though..
