think i have heard that a traxxas 2.5 is a great engine for the MT/MT2, and makes it very fast.

The TRX 2.5 WILL NOT work, beacuse it has a SG crankshaft, and a slide carb. You can get the linkages to convert to a slide carb setup for cheap (~$7), but you'll need the Wolf Pack Radicals Motor mounts for the SG crank. You'd be better off getting something with a standard (threaded) crankshaft and a rotart carb. Personally I'd recommend the OS .18 CV-RX (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXGGP7&P=ML). It's cheap, and will be faster than stock. If you want to spend more and go insanely fast the .18 TZ (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXHLV9&P=ML). Keep in mind that the TZ is rear exhaust and you will need a new header, I'm not sure but I thought the NTC3 header would work.

Wait...you used the motor mounts FROM the savage to put a .21 sized engine in there?
Can some one please confirm this for me...it will save me ALOT. And if you are being serious about this, I hope you have upgraded your diffs to heavy duty ones along with your outdrives and axels because they are going to die under that amount of load.
To stay within reason I reccomend the OS .18 CV-RX, great power and torque, and again if you think you are ready to be able to handle it, and upgrade the drivetrain, get the .18 TZ TX. It makes the power and torque that some, and even more then other, .21 sized engines make......so good luck.

yep i welded the old holes shut then made new slots it wasnt that hard and the savage mount has a wider base so sayby by to chassis flex so far ive not broke adiff or any thing else well i did strip a spur gear i have the stock tires if i used bigger tires i probly would break diffs then if you cant weld alluminum just drop it off at a welding shop they wont charge much i run a shop in my spare time and id do it for 10 bucks another thing is the .25 isnt over blessed with power and i used heavy clutch shoes so its nice and smooth i started out with a old block that was cracked i got it for free i welded the crack and it ran once i new it was going to work ijust ordered a new .25 the pics of it are in the nitro off road page if you can find them or if some one wants to post them ill email i cant seem to figure out how to do it truck they are offf the old .21 engine ,jared
