I need a radio for my first R/C car
I'm deciding between the following radios:
- Futaba Magnum 2PC
- Futaba Magnum 2PCKA
- Futaba Magnum 2PEKA
- JR XR-2

Also, is it beneficial to get an FM radio? And if so, what are the benefits of FM to AM? I don't really care about multi-model memory, but the JR XR-2 is on my list 'cause I can get it for the same price as the PEKA. I might race later, but not seriously or hardcore. I've tried the JR and Futaba already and they both feel comfortable, so no problems there. I'm only willing to spend at most $200CDN. Which should I get?

Well you shoudl out $80 more to get an Airtronics M8.

But the
Futaba Magnum 2PEKA
will do.

He said Canadian $$$. $200 would only be about $150 American. Get the XR 2. Good fetures and model memory. If you race at highly attended races often FM might be a better choice because it is less prone to interfierence.

That's what I'm debating now. Because I really don't care about the model memory and the only other significant feature that the JR XR-2 has that the Futaba FM doesn't is the fine tune adjustment. But the JR is AM and the Futaba is FM. Hmm... How valuable do you guys think the fine tune adjustment is? Hmm. FM or fine tune adjustment?

Go JR, I would get it over the cheaper FM radio, I would much rather have Digital trim, and more memory. It keeps it so that your trim and EP don't get messed up

I agree with XXXER.

Can someone tell me also what the differences between AM and FM are also?
