Another good thing is that it uses just one 7.2 volt battery, instead of 2 like before. Sure, it cuts down on the runtime, but it takes off a lot of weight, and should make it significantly faster and more nimble.

The new Villain is a nice boat. I just got one a few weeks ago. I don't think that the ESC is waterproof though, so I'd use care accordingly. I like the fact of being able to run just one bettery as well but find myself running two every now and then. Here's a link to some pics ya'll'd find enjoyable...

Nice pic. How fast do you think it goes? 15-18mph?

thanks alot for the pix and link, Im planning on going watercooled motors also, that will help[!! Im thinking about doing another water pickup for the motors alone. I think that will cool them even more effeciently. What kind of motors you have in it now? Did it make a big diff over the stock ones? 1 last ques, how do you run 2 batt pcks? what are the major advantages ? thanks

Bone stock it appeared to be doing between 10 to 15 mph. With the X-Star motors she looks like she's running somewhere between 15 to 20 mph... Sometimes a little fast if I go "AAAAAARRRRR" like a pirate!
:D
The motors are Stock 27 turn Trinity X-Star motors. Some leftover new old stock that I had lying around. Yes, there was a considerable increase in speed over the Stingers. She's also sporting 13 tooth pinions and juiced with Panasonic 3000 6-cell.
The hull comes with two slots to run two 6-cell packs. I just piggybacked some Deans connectors in place of the Tamiya (Mate-N-Loc) connector. The benefit is longer fun times. But just pay attention to motor heat when running longer with hotter motors...
