I will try this here: I have an Xray T2 that I am selling. The car is Box stock with the exceptions of a P-dub bumper and a CRC Solid top plate that will come with it.
This car was gonna be my "carpet car" but I just can't pass the "orange" car over to someone else. The car I am selling I bought used, it has only a hand full of carpet runs on it and I have never used it myself. So it is pretty much NEW. I will let it go for $260 shipped to your door...
Also I have 6 packs of eXpress 3800s for sale. I will take $30 each for them. A few of the packs the shrink has come loose, seems I forgot too fill two of the battery slots... But I assure you that there is NOTHING wrong with them other than cosmetic. I run them every other week when I get to race.
Also is 6 Stk. motors: 3 are eXpress monster stks. 1 is a Monster hand out motor and the other 2 are the chrome stk. handout motors.
The 3 eXpress ones I am looking for $15 each and the hand outs $10 each I will cut the comms. and install new brushes for you.

Looks like the weather has effectively canceled todays races. If we have enough people we can shoot for October 22nd. I know a few people have already asked about that weekend. How many people would be interested in that weekend for a race?

I've only heard from one person about racing on the 22nd, so I'm going to assume we're not going to have enough people to run any more since everyone is going to Rosewood.
If you want to race on the 22nd, speak now or forever hold your peace!

Oh can I start.. What about a controled tire this season.. Maybe The Wood and Durham can get together on 2 tires to choose from to help in tire war.. Most all tracks now run either RP30s or CS27s year round.. I vote for either.. Even thou I got a great tire deal I feel this is best to help raise car counts at all tracks..
Just mY 2 cents early... Please no flaming just something I see all across the nation,BUT NC....

Here you go trying to start trouble.
We can always run the orion spec tire it's cheaper.

That works too.. I really wasnt totally looking at $$. Just that were all on same tire and racing and not whos got the tire of the day for track temp and such.. Just all on same terms and RACING....:P

I need info on joining the club. I am planning on racing this year. I have never raced rc cars before but have got a used TC3 chassis and getting all the electronics. should be completly together sometime over the next month.

I would go for a premounted set-up. Takes tires and inserts out of the loop, helps equalize the whole field with everyone running the same combo.

control tire doesnt matter to me...I'll be running RP30's and 27's anyway...but a control tire is a good standard to follow.

Fast guys will still be fast.. Just allows others not to have 1,00,000,000 tires in there box to fiqure out what were running.. All equal.. Fla runs fro 40* to mid sumer 110* and run cs27 no matter what...

Standardizing on a tire sounds good to me, assuming they have a decent price.
I spent all of last season chasing a horrible setup and being a horrible driver, anything to take variables out of the equation makes it easier for me to focus on the horrible driver part.

No 1/8th scale??
How about the 1/10th scale nitro.. is there usually enough people there to run this class?
Also, what kits are most people running?
Thanks,
Adrian

There was 6 to 8 nitros there every race last year and about everybody runs ntc3's.
No 1/8th scales.

Thanks axrayed1!!
I used to have an NTC3 but I sold it to cheerwiner. Cheer, do you still run that NTC3 or do you have a different one?
Also, what electric kits do most people run?
Adrian
I don't think there is a majority on the electric right now.
Some run Corally, some Xray, some Tamiya, some Associated, Schumacher and I am sure there are a few I didn't mention.
or maybe one that isn't out yet

Wow, I just looked up the factory team ntc3 kit and I thought it was cheaper than that.
I have some more questions. sorry!!
Do you guys run two speed or one speed cars?
Do you require the front one way?
Is there any restrictions?? (engine size, tires, fuel tank)
Thanks again.
axrayed1
01-08-2007, 07:25 PM
I think everybody is running a two speed car.
As far as oneways that is up to the driver if he runs one most of the guys are running a front diff.
For a engine we try to go by roar and stick with a .12 engine 75cc fuel tank and foam tires are can run rubber tires but it's harder to get the car setup.
We also run sadan bodies.
I hope all this help and hope to see you out this spring.

I need some help. I am trying to place an order online for some parts. What gearing do you guys recomend? I am going to be running a TC3, probably with a CO27. also does anybody know anything about this (http://www.hobbypeople.net/gallery/158303.asp) power supply? I am thinking about getting that also, I have a duratrax ICE charger.
The layout that is currently down right now we used somewhere around a 6.4 or so final drive ratio with a CO27 motor. I suspect somewhere around that will work this coming year even after we change the layout.
No idea about the power supply.

Ok guys.. I got the NTC3. I won it on ebay last night!! Hopefully it will be here within the week. It came with a starter box, 2 bodies, an extra chassis (that was cut up for some reason) and tons of parts. (supposedly enough to build another car!!)
I believe the motor is a .12. It will be my first bump start car. Is there anyone that goes out to the track in Durham to practice that might want some company?? (Company that will probably ask a lot of questions!!)
I do know that it came with 2 pairs (NIB) foams for the rear and 1 pair (NIB) for the front in addition to the tires already on it. Just out of curiosity, what is a sedan body?? Like the Mazda 6 body?? I think it comes with a Mercedes body and a Mazda body. Cheerwiner... do you still have the blue, white, and yellow body (Mazda 6) that I sold to you with the NTC3??
I hope to see some of you out there soon!!

Oh, and I need to know what kind of transponder I need to get. Also, what are the fees and dues required?? I remember that there was a membership/ownership drive a good while back, but I didn't really have anythign to run.
I wanted to do offroad (came to one race to run offroad) and there was no one to race with.

How do I calculate the gearing to find the final drive ratio? I found a website but do not know all the variables.
JimmyMac
01-11-2007, 05:33 PM
TC3 and TC4 has an internal ratio of 2.5 to 1. So what ya do is.... Take the spur.. for example.. 100. divide it by the pinion... 34 for example. That equals 2.94. Multiply that by 2.5 and you get 7.35 final ratio.

Okay cool, I think all this is slowly starting to makes sense. What pinion and spur gears would you recomend I stock up on for the upcoming season. For some reason my used stuff only came with spur gears and no pinions so I have to get some of those. Thanks

I'm still alive and yup i still have that ntc3 it has a two speed tranny and version 2 rear end now but the same motor. i don't race but like 3-4 times a year so i don't want to invest too much this summer unless it looks like i will be out often. 2007 is the year i turn frugal.

Ha!! I just ordered a new radio and spektrum system. I have been wanting it for a while.. and with the new NTC3 and hyper 7 kit (found one I have to build and not 80% complete!!) I needed some radio equipment.
Now I have to figure out what servos to get for the NTC3.

Started a new thread for the new year....and season coming up.

Adrian-
I put a spektrum in my car in the second half of last season, used the servos that came with the system to replace the ones in the car. They seemed to work fine, not the fastest reaction time in the world, but they have enough power if you're using a 5 cell receiver pack.
As for practicing, I'm not sure about the state of the track at the moment, but assuming its drivable and the forcast holds out for this weekend, I'll probably head out Saturday around noon for some playing around.
I'll definately have my ntc, possibly my electric as well.
