My first race is coming up this weekend at So cal R/C. I was wondering about a check list to go through on my XXX-T and any tricks that might help me.
Thanks,

yo, whats up, i'll help you with your check list. It's pretty simple, just remember these 6 things.
1. Get a tool box together of all your main tools. Include tools like hex renches, a good screw driver set, some thread lock, spare pinions/spurs, and anything that you would use at home to adjust your car. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/wink.gif
2. get together all your cells, charge a pack or two the night before so you can practice when you get there. remember your charger, and some spare fuses for it.
3.bring an extra $2.50 for sacks and another $1.00 for numbers. Every qualifying round, you need to buy your number stickers for your car. At my track you get3 for a quarter.
4.Make sure you have good batterys in your contoller, theres nothing like getting on the drivers stand and realizing you can't control your car.
5.Get to the race early so you can get a good spot to wrench on your car.
6.Make friends, have fun, and don't be nervouse, it's okay to be but theres no reason to.
well now you now the steps, go out and have fun. Make sure you e-mail me and tell me how the race went, good luck. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/wink.gif

My first race is also on saturday, I am nervous, but fairly confident with my buggy. I have been to the track a couple times, I didn't do to bad, didn't break anything http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

yeah your first race will be cool. another pointer to try and remember. when you are practicing, dont drive like you are racing right away, slow down and take it easy to get a feel of the track. one of the worst things you can do is break a part on your car/truck berfore the first qualifier. and dont feel you have to go psycho and get the holeshot. the holeshot is awesome, but sometimes if the starting line is near a turn, like a five car pileup happens: no good. ovecourse, that mignt not be your situation ar you local track but it is at mine. do you have the rcca back issue with the "make your first race your best race"? if you do read that like twice. i think its a '99 or'00 issue. just have fun and finish your heats. youll do fine http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif
