GREAT exposure of our hobby on TV!

I watch a show called "Big Brother". It's a reality show where a bunch of people live together in a house and have no contact with the outside world. They have competitions to win "Head of Houshold" and tonight's competition involed RC cars!

They all got electric Traxxas Rustlers and got to practice with them. It was cool, they were working on them and everything ;) Then they had to drive them on a map of the US and hit a certain state that corresponded to a trivia question.

The 2 people that scored the highest went to the final. They now got to practice hitting obstacles and there were jumps set up in the backyard! They had to run through an obstacle course which also involved trivia.

It was really cool to see real RC cars on TV. And BTW - if I was there I would have kicked some serious butt ;)

dude i just saw it, it was awesome to see rc on tv.oh yeah btw if i were there with my ft b3 it would have been a serious masacre. :eek: :eek:

Big Brother is on right now in the Pac NW, hopefully I didn't miss it. hehe. I never watch this lame show, but if there's RC in it.... hmm.

I just saw it too. :eek: My sis started yelling "Dave!!" when she saw the RC's. This is cool. It exposes our hobby on a nationally watched TV show. :) Too bad more TV shows don't do this... :rolleyes:

Yeah, I saw it too. One guy almost drove his truck into the pool. Man those guys had NO hand/eye coordination.

yeah i remember when i first started 3 weeks ago i was keeping up with people who had been into rc for like 2-4 years on my very first time out :D i hope that they show that again so i can show my friends.

it was odd they didnt stick traxxas decals on the original bodies, before they gave each "house guest" their own body.

which would leave me to believe that traxxas didnt sponser it.

but it was great exposure to the hobby.

also i am amazed that none of the people set up a huge jump and tried to get some big air, lol!

Arrrggghhh, I havn't watched that show at all this season. I really hope they show it again cause I wanna see it. I remember a couple weeks ago on some hot rod car show on tnt the guys on it had a ep RS 4 mt they had a little jump set up with little running room and the first guy tried like to times and didn't have it but then the other guy tried and he made it twice! it was pretty cool to watch the first guy crsh it into the landing ramp, I was surprised that nothing broke.

I would have liked to see the house guests each get their own RC10 GT and have a huge dirt track set up in the backyard. Then the HOH competition could have been racing instead of driving around on a map ;)

Or how about giving them all 1/8 buggies and having a big air competition!!!! The possibilities are endless LOL

I wonder if the house guests get to keep the cars around for something to do for the rest of their stay or will Big Brother take them back,... if that happened I'd have to walk out LOL

That weekly Hot Rod show on TNN shows HPI cars at least once every 3 weeks. HPI is indeed a sponsor of the program; go to the HPI site for details. I've seen the RS4 truck and an RS4 Nitro already.

You really want to see RC on TV? We could all, this October during the Off Road Worlds, call or email our local TV stations and ask them for some news coverage. The Worlds could very well make it into the "off beat comedic" segments at the end of the sports news.

While I was watching "Blind Date", I heard my parents yelling "Steve, steve, they have RC Cars on Big Brother!!!!" So, I had to go down and watch.

I was not as bad as they were, when I started at 9 years old, yeesh!

It was great to see RC on TV, even if it was on Big bOther(hehe :p )

man I almost pooped my pants when when hardys rustler was hanging by the rear wheel! o and he REALL messed up when he had to go through those things that were standing up lol he just went full speed right into em! :rolleyes:
