Seeing as Tamiya is in the mood for reproductions I'd like to cast a vote for the Bruiser.

Hopefully if we get a lot of support for this remake, or redo of this unbeatable realistic and fun classic Tamiya will make it again.

Afterall they made that Wild Willy 2 and I don't remember a demand for it.

Help us out RCCA. Let your clout w/the manufacturers get this out to them.

All those in favor of bringing back what was one of the most sought after R/Cs then and now vote here.

Think there is no interest? Used Bruisers are going for 500+ bucks and you can expect to get well over 1200+ for a NIB kit.

I think it would be an excellent idea.

For those of you who weren't around back then, it was a full metal chassis, dual pumpkins, 4wd, leaf spring, big, true to life monster. Looked and worked just as the real thing.

Anyone have any pics to post to show the unknowning people what I mean?

Vote now!

I've seen pics of these things and they kick ***, They resemble real trucks when stock. If tamiya does re make it im getting one, andi hope it will still be a metal chassis. i know where to find pics but how do you do that?

OMG...One of my favorite subjects. Realism and the Tamiya Bruiser/Mountaineer. I may have not ever been around when they were around but when i was getting started i saw one of these and totally fell in love with it. Ever since then ive wanted one but until now, i have never wanted one so bad. I have posted a "bring realism back to R/C" topic before but no one wants realism. All they want is performance. I want both. More importantly, realism with brute power. Now you DO HAVE MY VOTE. I just hope that someone can translate into japaneese what these messages say cuz they wont do it but it is worth the try.

hpiguy - I am totally with you on this. I talked to S. Tamiya in person about this very topic last year in Japan. They didn't say "no," buy they (Tamiya) said that everyone was excited about a re-release of the Mountaineer a few years back, but when it came to actually buying the truck, everyone went running - the other way! It apparently took some time to sell the limited run they had produced. It seems everyone was all talk until Tamiya actually made them. I think that whole experience cooled them to the idea of remaunfacturing an expensive kit like the Bruiser. I realize the Brusier would likely sell better than the Mountaineer, but it's still going to cost some heavy bones.

BTW - I have an NIB Bruiser. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

Great support guys.

Thanks for the input SteveP. You are more lucky than you know. Better get a safe deposit box for it. How much did you toss on that Bruiser? Or was it in the warehouse? If you ever decide to part with it let me know.

Also, could you post a pic of it so that others can see what we are yapping about. Your box shot should do the trick, or if it is unsealed toss in a few pics of it in the box so others can see.

BTW if Tamiya was to reproduce it NOW they would probably sell more. Seeing as now we are seeing a resurgence (?) in the R/C market and nostalgia R/C is red hot.

As long as the marketed it as heavily as they did that Wild Willy 2 kit they would sell.

If i had any money i would make an offer on the bruiser but i only got like 23 cents or somethin like that. Well...I hope Tamiya reconsiders remaking those type of kits...Just like the new (i hope they import em) XB RTR kits. I loved the chassis that was on the Wrangler/Mu/Pajero. Well...bye.
