Help needed, I'm running an 8t Orion V2 through a no limit ESC in my HPI RS4 with a 27 pin & 75 spur, its generating so much heat that ESC & batt connectors are melting together ending either the battery or ESC life, whats the problem?

you are wayyyy overgearing it...go 20 or 21 tooth pinion..I blew 3 motors doing this

What kind of connectors are you using?

Well I've just been reviewing some old threads on connectors and it looks like the old bullets have go to go, but do I use deans or powerpole?

I use Deans for the battery connection and hardwire the motor.

I agree with Rcbasher.. that is way overgeared and the motor is having to work way too hard.

I found that tamiya conecters will weld together.. I would go to dean plugs. that will fix that problem.

Also I would gear down a bit too.
Would baybe the + wire on the motor touching any metal causing a short?
