Where can I find new radio antennas for a JR reciener (FM), and could I use my soldering gun to replace the aNtenna?

futaba makes replacement wire. You can get it at Tower Hobbies. I just put a new one on my Novak xxl. Worked great. You'll need to solder it in.

Each radio brand is generally available with replacement items including the antenna. Most just unscrew out and aren't too expensive to purchase. If antenna is broke off inside, it is necessary to open the case to get at it. I would try to replace it with the same brand as using off or some other brand you may run into proper fit or reception problems. I wouldn't try soldering it or taping it - depending on where the break is you won't be able to collape it.
JR has a website and check Tower or Stormer for the proper antenna if you can't get it locally.
Most radios can be repaired by the manufacturer depending on problem, model and warranty coverage; it may cost you, if you don't as ease doing it.

The antenna seems to have been cut a bit short from it's standard length, which I suspect is causing a radio glitch problem I have.

Sorry, bout that I was only looking at radio didn't see the receiver at first in post hey it's late this time of morning. But still he can check the JR site or with web sites that carry JR products to see what replacements parts are available, get the RX receiver wire made for that product off brands like Futaba may be on a different wave band and length. Splicing it may suffice until you can get a replacement but it may affect radio reception since you have reduced the length.
