hello, i am having a problem finding a 1/12th scale body for my midnight pumpkin so this what i was thinking of doing, buying a 1/10th scale p/u body n wacking of the bed of the truck then slicing of a few inches of the bed to shortn it up.i was gonna fuse it back together by making a "bracket" out of scrap piece of lexan n tapping 2 holes with a body reamer on the cab of the truck n 2 on the bed (same for the other side)n then holding them togerther with nuts n bolts(stove bolt?)?then i was gonna jb weld over the backet to bond it really good? anybody think this is a good idea?

if anybody has any 1/12th unpainted pick up bodys lying around, please let me know!i think a body from a mauri big bear will fit too!i tryed ebay but nuttn still,i found a couple but got killed on the auctions, lolthanx!

Parma might still make a few bodies that would fit, so try them.

If they ever come out again, the old BoLink Digger bodies were roughly 1/12th scale. You could try Radio Shack for something that might fit, as they sell replacement bodies for most of their cars.

Fester,
Are you still wanting to do this? Additionally, you're probably going to have to channel and chop the bodyshell to keep the proportions correct (unless you're going for the caricature look which is also way cool with the right body). You could also try fiberglassing the bodyshell back together again after you do your surgery, but you'd almost have to paint on the outside to cover up the bodywork. Let me know if I can help you.

Don't be put off by fiber glass. It's easier than you think. I made wheelwells for the Miyata with fiberglass.
