Here is a nice little ditty explaining what PCM is. For those of you that don't like to read, here's the short version:
PCM = Pulse Code Modulation
PCM systems use digitally encoded signals to minimize interference and provide today's most advanced R/C control.
And here is the long version: http://www.futaba-rc.com/faq/faq-pcm1024.html

Well,
PCM has been around for well over ten years now, and most top drivers still prefer pure FM.
PCM has a slightly delayed response. The signal takes longer to process. Something like that.....I am not getting into it here.
See ya...

I just got a RC10GT of ebay and it came with a KoPropo R-756 PCM radio. Whats so special about PCM over FM?

PCM, Positive crash mode as some aircraft modelers call it.
PCM causes your radio to have less interference, the problem is, when you finally do get intereference, it is too late and you sometimes don't regain control.
I compare it to a corvette in a corner, it holds on with no signs of losing traction then *SNAP* and off the road you go.
Where as with AM and FM, when you get interference, you can still maintain some sort of control and stop the vehicle.
