I haven't messed around, but I'd like to interject somthing Loki might have forgotten to mention:
When you are submitting a "bug report," include usefull information, if there was an error message, copy it over so he know's what happened. Just saying "I went and I got an error message and it didn't work" isn't going to help.
Hey primuswoostinkinhoo
Thanks for checking it out. I'm not surprised that an error came up (that's why the site's still in BETA), but it would be *extremely* helpful if you could let me know where you hit an error, and what you were trying to do. Even better, if you get an Error Page, email the page to support@imagys.com, or post it to this forum.
Also, any information on the Browser (name and version) and platform (windows, mac, linux?) would be useful.
I apologize to anybody in advance if you have problems with the site, but with a bit of patience, I think the bugs will get worked out!
Thanks,
Loki

I created my garage, and I am having a few problems. On the one picture I uploaded, the thumbnail doesn't appear, but the entire pictures does appear when I click it.
Second, why does my garage show two vehicles (when the public info shows one).
Third, I am getting an error message when I try to add more pictures (I go to my garage, edit the vehicle, then add more pics). Here is the message (sorry if the formatting getting messed up):
------------

Ok, I think I figured it out. Accidentally, I created two garages. If it's possible, delete the garage called "Dan's B3," but make sure you keep "Dan C's Garage."
EDIT: This is all very wierd... the problem seems to be fixed now (maybe it was just stuck in the cache...)

After clicking the 'members area' link about trying to register I got an error that read: HTTP/1.0 404 Object Not Found
BUT, when I clicked 'members' at the top of the page and clicked 'build a garage' it worked.
THEN, after building my garage, I clicked 'finish' and I got this error: Error Diagnostic Information
ODBC Error Code = 37000 (Syntax error or access violation)
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Line 3: Incorrect syntax near ')'.
Data Source = "rc"
SQL = "SELECT Garage.GarageID, Garage.GarageName, Vehicles.VehicleID, Vehicles.VehicleName, Vehicles.VehicleDateCreated, Vehicles.GarageID, Vehicles.CatID, Vehicles.Manufacturer, Vehicles.Model, Vehicles.Motor, Vehicles.Radio, Vehicles.Description, Vehicles.Aftermarket FROM Garage INNER JOIN Vehicles ON Garage.GarageID = Vehicles.GarageID WHERE (((Vehicles.VehicleID)=))"

The specific sequence of files included or processed is:

SO, I went back and clicked 'submit and add images' added a photo and clicked 'upload and proceed' and it worked. I now have a Garage!
Now I just gotta' get my better pics up there!! That ones real od, one of the few I have here at work.
That oughta' keep you busy for a couple of minutes! ;)

I seem to be having a problem with the thumbnails. The first one is showing up but the rest are not. Just looked at NitroDrew's and looks like he has the same problem.
Also, when I get a better picture, will there be any way to change which of the pictures shows up on the main garage page?
NitroDrew
05-31-2001, 04:36 PM
Yeah, my thumbnail doesn't work, but the photo does when you click on the thumbnail. I used the exact same pic for both the thumbnail and regular pic, maybe that is the problem? Does the thumbnail one need to be real small?
Cool site, though! It'll be GREAT once I figure it out and the bugs are worked out!! Thanx for puttin' it up! :D
Obi112
05-31-2001, 05:25 PM
Nope, that's not the problem. I just came back maybe an hour after posting pics and the thumbnails are working (I used the same exact pic, too).
Hey Obi112, NitroDrew
Thanks for playing with this thing. Sorry it took a while to get any replies, but you know how it can be...
Some of the problems you guys were having might have been because I was doing some work on the "build a garage" templates this afternoon (I wouldn't be surprised if you were running into problems because of that.)
I've gone through the DB and cleaned up your Garages and images. Lemme know if it works okay, and keep posting the error messages!
[edited content: at some point, I will add code that will allow you to select the main Garage Image. Also, I've modified the Garage building so that Thumbnails no longer need to be uploaded--they'll be automatically generated on the back-end.]
Many thanks,
Loki

Thanks loki... thsi website is going to be awesome once more people join and the pictures start rolling in. Here's a small problem: when a second comment is added, the text is displayed right next to the previous person's name (look at my B3 page under Dan C's Garage).
Thanks for this awesome site!
Hey guys,
Sorry for the delay in bug fixes, but my brother-in-law and I went out to one of the local freeways where they're doing some construction, and tried to run the Nitros a bit. I say tried, since we spent most of the time trying to tune them in  Ah well.
Now then, on to the fixes. Some of you hit the "form.imga not found" error, which is fixed now. Mark98SS, your image is now showing up on the site, but you'll have to edit the description to get it to say what you want (go to the members area, login, and click the "edit" button next to the image). Pyro4Life, I also got your image up, but the same thing, you'll want to edit the description.
Alright, we've now got 5 garages and counting! Thanks for the great input guys, and keep hammering at the site :D

Awesome site! I love the opening garage doors. Did you sneek Gokou's GT into the offroad garage??? I'm trying to get some pics of my RC10 and GT for the site.
Yeah, I was wondering if anybody'd pick up on that. I hope Gokou doesn't mind *too* much...

cool site.... have my garage on its way... Have to figure out how to get a pic of my glider and my plane..
Howdy all,
I haven't been an RCZone member for terribly long, but I've come up with something that will hopefully be useful to you guys.
http://www.clikshow.com/rc
It's called Clikshow RC, and it's a Free online Photo site for folks like you and me. I built it as a place where we can all post pics and descriptions of our RC's. You can also link to your photos in RCZone Forum posts, a la Photopoint.
This is a completely private venture, and there is no charge for users. There is also no banner advertising or any of the other crud we all hate about the web. HOWEVER, there are some restrictions on use:
1. This is a site for RC's, and RC's only. I don't mind if you post pics to link to from ebay or sell/trade forum, but it must all be RC related.
2. Unlike RCZone, Clikshow RC is not moderated in any way, except retroactively. I will do my best to maintain order and weed out "inappropriate" stuff, but you may end up seeing things you weren't expecting.
3. The site is built and maintained by myself, and nobody else (at this point), which means that if you have problems, I will try to resolve them as quickly as possible. But I still have a full-time job, and I still need time to run my RC's...
4. The site is very robust, and is co-located at Visi.com. The SQL databases and File Directories are backed up nightly, so your pics and descriptions should will be safely stored and easily viewed. However, I can in no way guarantee that your data will be 100% safe (read the terms and conditions on the site if you want all the details). And if for some reason I lose my job, the site could be pulled for a period of time since my current employer is donating the server space and bandwidth for this project.
SO, all that said, I'm looking for folks who would like to BETA the site. I'm not running an official BETA; I'm asking for folks who are fairly comfortable with on-line applications, and who won't mind having their information wiped in case of large bugs. It's not likely that any BETA users will lose information, but that's the risk.
If you'd like to try it out, please visit http://www.clikshow.com/rc
and click the "Members Area". From there, if you click the "Build a Garage" icon, you will be taken to the registration form. You'll need to have some digital images on hand to upload (you'll also have to create a small thumbnail version of your images--more details on the site).
Thanks in advance for any and all who swing by and check the site out. Questions/Comments can be posted to this thread, and I will try to answer everything as best I can.
Regards,
Martin Ouimet (aka Loki)

Trying to add new car to garage & got this:
Error Occurred While Processing Request

Request canceled or ignored by serverServer busy or unable to fulfill request. The server is unable to fulfill your request due to extremely high traffic or an unexpected internal error. Please attempt your request again (if you are repeatedly unsuccessful you should notify the site administrator). (Location Code: 26)

Hey Mark,
Okay, I found the bug that was preventing the updates to your vehicle description. It should be working now.
Not so sure what the deal is with the other error message. I'll have to go through server logs to see what kind of traffic we're generating, but I'd be very surprised if that's the problem. Likely another bug in my code that's trying to kill the server ;)
Thanks,

I have spent all afternoon putting pics of my cars in my garage. Loki...thank you for this site. It was a lot of fun just putting the pics there. It is very easy to use. I cant seem to add comments to my pics but I suspect you are still working on the site and will try again later. :)
Thanks for the comments, Calabash. That atomik body looks sweet. Just outta curiousity, why're you running the rear tires all the way 'round your truck on Race Day?
Just a little reminder for everybody who's uploading pics: Remember to add the ".jpg" (without quotes) filename extension to the images that you're loading. If you don't, our server won't recognize the file and the result will be a missing image.
Otherwise, things seem to be getting much smoother. 22 RC's so far (and counting!). Thanks again for jumping in, guys.
Loki
Hey Primus...
Thanks for posting the error. It actually doesn't have anything to do with either the Mac or Netscape (which will come as a *huge* surprise to any developers out here ;) ). I just didn't make the "email" field in the db long enough to handle your email address. It's fixed now, so give it another shot.
Thanks again,
Loki
Hey Bluesy,
Well, that's what happens when you try to add a new feature ;) I was changing the admin screens to add the ability to select which image will be shown on your Garage page. It should be fixed now, so give it a shot. Glad you like the site!
Gonna go and try to get some running time on the RC10 before the rain starts coming down...

Hey Loki, I asked the guy at the track what kind of tires they run there he mentioned Losi step pins I think they are called. He mentioned a lot run the back tires up front as well. So I got them and tried it. Still too soon to tell if they make a difference compared to the directional front tires. But the guy who won the A main had the Losi tires all the way around...

Except for not being able to edit pics, the clikshow is excellent. I am able to post my pics with no problem. I WOULD like to add more comments about my cars but I understand this is a beta and you are working out the kinks. Thanks again for letting us do this.

Thanks Loki,
It's working great now. :) :) :D :D ;) ;) :p :p
Just wanted to know that some changes have been made to the site, based on some requests I've received.
The site's been modified a bit to allow for signature files. Basically, you create a new "vehicle", and select "signature" from
the gallery list. That way, when you upload your sig file, it shows up in your garage where you can link to it, but it won't show up as a vehicle in the galleries. Quick and dirty, but it works ;)
I posted a link on RCMT.net, so hopefully some Monster Trucks will start showing up...

Question, i read over the stuff on the site, but i didn't see anything about linking to images directly with a "" tags, can we do this or should we not?
Hey Distro,
Good question, and I just realized that you don't find out the answer till you build a garage ;) Basically, in your garage, you'll find the following URL which you can use to dump the image directly to your posts: Here's the basic URL:
<pre>http://www.clikshow.com/rc/garages/your_garage_name/your_image.jpg</pre>
Where "your_garage_name" is the name of your Clikshow garage, and "your_image.jpg" is the name of the image you're linking to. That's basically it!

Yah i know how to get the url, you can just click properties when you load your full photo to get it also. I'm just woundering because of te amount of bandwidth it may take from the server.
Distro
06-08-2001, 06:34 AM
One more thing, when you do a search for serpent, you get my garage, but it lists it 2 times.
Hey Distro,
The bandwidth issue is something that's more or less up in the air right now. The hardware's pretty stable, and unless usage jumps dramatically, linking pics from Clikshow shouldn't be a problem.
As for the search, well... that one I'm working on still ;)
Loki
How do you get the pics to here? I know about the [IMG] thing but I cant get a full view of my truck without words or something near it.
Distro
06-10-2001, 08:35 PM
right click the image (when you have the full size image in view) then go down to properties, hit that. Then you will see a new window and it will have a link on it. Copy that link and your set.
I know that, my problem is that it wont show a full size image by itself.
