Are you guys from Vancouver, BC? I read your posts in the Regional forum. I was just wondering if you could comment on anything about the local race scene, hobby stores, brand availability, or anything for that matter. I'm still deciding on either getting a gas/electric for my first R/C car.

Just wondering. I wanna get a nitro car, but as far as I know, there's no organized races in the lower mainland now (winter). So if someone only has a nitro car, where could he/she go to race his car? Also, I went to Lansdowne one day and they were racing electric cars. Really cool. Are you allowed to go race there any day any time, just for fun, or only on certain days? If not are there any indoor/outdoor tracks that are opened everyday for people to practice and fool around?

One last thing. What hobby shop would you recommend I go to? Or not go to? I've already been to a few where the salespeople are more interested in hopping up their car for the next race or talk to the next buddy that comes in the door than help me get started in the hobby. Or just plain obnoxious. Yes I'm a newbie!
