Has anyone else noticed an increase in glitching when increase the amperage they charge cells at. I recently installed a Futaba 9602 servo with a Futaba R142JE AM reciever. I was at the track a couple days ago and I noticed that when I charged my cells at 6 amps as apposed to 5, my car glitched so much it was undriveable. I changed freqs and made sure no one else was on my frequency. Has anyone else had this trouble? Could it be related to my new high speed servo?

No, I've charged my packs at a number of different rates(& lately, I've been doing it at 6.5 amps), & I've never noticed any glitching as a result of it, so it might be more likely the servo that could be causing it. What kind of motor are you running(a stock class, mod, machine woumd, handwound)? That can also play a role in glitching sometimes(especially if they draw so many amps that the ESC's battery eliminator circuit can't supply enough current to run the radio gear, & a more powerful servo can add to that because they'll draw more current, too)....

I'm running a monster horsepower and a novak gt7 speedo.

Hm, that's pretty odd, I run those motors & I run a Novak GT7 all the time(& I think Novaks are among the best at helping to prevent glitching because of the quality of their BEC), so I dunno. How often do you rebuild that motor? And also, after you noticed the glitch, did you try going back to 5 amps? Maybe it's just a case of the radio needing to be upgraded(AM radios are more prone to glitching than FM)....

The motor was brand new. Well it had about 5 runs on it. After I noticed the glitching I changed the pack out with one that I had charged at 5 amps and everything was fine.

do you have any cells in that particular pack that the shrink might be cut or worn and the exposed metal of the cell might be touching the chassis? i've seen this cause glitching before.

No it doesn't look like it. I race 3 packs, two Team Orions and one Trinity. All charged them all at 6 amps and tested them, its only the Trinity pack that gives me trouble.

Charge amperage would have nothing to do with glitching. Your best bet is to ask your LHS to help you swap put e;ectronics one by one to find the sourse of the glitch. Start with the receiver, then the speedo, and lastly the servo. Also if your motor hasn't been serviced in a while, give that a shot. You can also play with the receiver position. Hope that helps
