did you guys noticed that traxxas plans on increasing prices on some of their vheicles whats up with that? Think its a marketing scheme to get more buyers before may 1? I guess you gotta make more money to pay the drivers since they have been sponsoring them lately.

inflation in general, price of things usually increase. How much are we talking?

I just read that myself... Kinda crazy... The ad was like "Hi, we released the JATO price, and jacked up all the rest too". Kinda odd... Usually prices on these things drop after time.

Great...so overpriced trucks can become even more expensive. What a great idea! The good news is that it's just the MSRP. If they don't raise the prices they're selling them to their distributors for then the shelf prices probably won't go up...

Yeah, I think this is just a marketing ploy. I doubt Traxxas would post a public access webpage displaying that if they didn't intend for that to purposely increase sales between now and May 1st. That sort of information is usually between the distributor (Traxxas) and the wholesale buyer (LHS).

Guess pushing people's buying impulses to boost sales is smart for them... Since the Revo came out, alot of people have probably given serious thought to buying one, but haven't yet. With the addition of a deadline, I think they hope to achieve a turnover from serious interests into serious sales. My thoughts, anyway...

^^^ Maybe, but anyone who can read and comprehend properly understands that a 35 dollar increase in the MSRP means that it'll be a 20 dollar increase (at most) in street price, which really isn't enough to justify buying now instead of later. Seriously, that's what? 5 or 6%? Basically nothing. It's like adding a few spare glow plugs to the purchase. If you're wanting a Revo and the price goes up 20 bux and you can't swing it, do the smart thing. Buy a pullstart for 25 bucks instead of buying a 40 dollar charger and 10 dollar battery for the EZ Start. It's a better setup anyways...

here is another who cares thread...Traxxas has the right to raise their prices and people who want a traxxas car/truck are going to buy it even if it is $30 more. Get over it.

I agree. Marketing ploy... That doesn't even deserve a thoughtful reply. Prices of things go up - if you can't afford it, don't buy it. I doubt that any of you that are complaining were planning to buy one anyway, but hey, at least it gave you a reason to start a useless thread. If they just raised the price then there would be another thread (probably filled with posts from the same users) complaining about how they should have told everyone ahead of time.

What I find strange is that the Traxxas announcement didn't mention that prices on a few kits are actually going down. Mind you, they are not their most popular kits. I dont have the list off-hand, but I think the Nitro Street and the Nitro Rustler are two of them, but don't quote me on it.

What none of you even realize is that the global prices of aluminum, steel, and thermoplastics have been rising at an incredible rate. Aluminum prices are up something to the order of 50% over the last 2 years or so. As the price of crude oil remains sky high, so will prices for the plastics that RC parts are made from. Plastics are made from crude oil...

I think that prices on RC equipment will soon be raised almost across the board. So far most manufacturers have taken the hit to their profit margin and spared the hit to our wallets, but sooner or later they will have to pass these costs onto their customers or they will find themselves out of business.

i agree Tbone77
yeah, but why not increase the price from the begining not at the end of a product? You dont see tamiya do that except when they discontinue their product line the value usually goes up aka bruiser, monty, etc. all them, but traxxas from what i know is not considered a collectable item (my opinion only) and plus sales (assuming) have been really good for traxxas. I think the only reason they are raising these, "minor" price increases because they have to make money to pay the drivers and of course the full scale TMAXX they sponsored so I guess its justified. :)

You went where I didn't want to go... The price of every raw mat'l. has increased and that is why there will be an increase. I think the increase is minimal compared to what I see in my industry.
