How much harder is it to have a wood rc boat comapred to an abs hull?

They are much harder to build and after building you must sand and apply a perfect finish to the wood or it will leak water, and create drag on the boat if it isn't smooth.
Thay also tend to get damaged easily, and when damaged are difficult to repair without maiking it stand out from the original hull.
ABS is stronger, lighter and already has a smooth, and usually chined (runners to help stability) from the factory.

But wooden hulled boats are soooo much cooler. Sometimes it is worth the effort to have something nice that you made rather than factory made just because it is easier.

I agree wood is much nicer, but not worth the work IMHO unless you are a serious boater.
