Scariest Moment in My RC Career!!!

Yesterday while I was showing my friend my gt for the first time, I had a close call. We were out in some dirt and there was a large puddle in the middle. Of course I was hot doggin for him and was getting a little close to the water, tryin to spray some water on hime with the paddle tires I was using. Well on one of the go-arounds I hit a big rock which sent me into the water! There was A soft hiss and after about 2 seconds my engine died. It was stuck in almost top-of-the-wheel high water! We race home, dry out the electronic. Thank god they still work. Well now for the engine. I was realy scared that I ruined it because I pegged the trottle in the water And the engine sucked up a bunch of dirty water. It was hydro locked so i unscrewed the plug. It started with a blubry sound and A bunch of water speewd out the carb. I held the wheels off the ground and cleared it out untill it ran out of fuel. I dumped a bunch of after-run oil into the plug opening and the carb. Oh, and bye the way, this is my new picco we are talking about. Well, today I took it out on a test drive. It started with a little difficulty due to the ton of after-run I put in it, but once I got it cleared out, it ran like a charm. No noticible difference. Has this happeded to anyone else before. The compression is stil tight. The water was pretty murky though. Any nown long term effects of having your engine flodded with dirty water?

as long as no dirt got into it, it hink it'll be fine, the next time you show off, becareful

i know how you feel man. the worst feeling me (and probably everyone else here)always have is that my t-maxx or what ever else i'm driving will get hit by a car... so i always drive with a buddy who car spots for me. lucky enough for my T-maxx or T3 i can run it up a curb and out of harms way. my TC3 isn't so lucky. if i see a car i either have the put it at the far side of the road practically up against the curb and pray the on-coming car will see it or zip it back to where i am.

I wasn't so lucky. I was practicing with my 4-TEC at the track I was going to race at and I went through soom standing water (which I didn't see) and it spayed all over. I ran to my car shut it off, and dried everything off and let it dry for a couple days (just to make sure). Unfortunately my reciever went bad and I can't race cause I'm low on money. Oh well theres always next time.

ill tell u what the biggest RUSH your ever gonna get is either winning the A main or when your car runs away from ya man its sooooo intense that happend to me while i was bashing in my front yard the Tx batts. went bad and she took off at full speed towards a car with people in it luckly after it jumped into the street it overreved and the engine shut off!! man i was shakin like a guy with ants in his pants! and i have to say i am SOOOOOOO LUCKY! :eek:

I couldn't hardly sleep that night. And I couldn't get my mind off it untill I made sure it was running good and cleaned it up god.

Well one time my new GT took off on me (i'm now a strong beleaver in throttle return springs) and it had a brand new .12 o.s. CV-X in it i just finished brakin in. Anyways i was tuning it for the next days race, I was racing around and wanted to bring her in to check the temp and i hit the brakes and nothing, it just kept going. Man full speed into a curb and landed upside down and caboomy. There goes my new engine. Thank god for O.S. I love um and will always use um. Oh as for my truck it only broke a shock and shock tower. Try watching your $2000 Brushless E-Maxx spinning on two wheels, out of control, in the middle of the street. It was in full reverse, and a car was comming fast. I did not think, I ran out into the middle of the road, and kicked the truck into the ditch and then jumped out of the way. The stupid car never even slowed down or honked!!! I was shaking, lol. I don't run on the road much anymore.

I've seen a T-maxx that took off into the ocean come in for repairs at my lhs, and another that was destroyed by the owners girl friend... smashed and thrashed.

Gotta Love the Scary water stories. LOL Mine happened back in 1985, I took my Marui Galaxy Buggy to a family reunion. My Ex-Brother in Law, talked me into letting him drive it. He hit the Throttle, made one turn and sent it flying into a lake. LOL After I made him dive for it to find it, I took it to a nearby gas station and dryed it with the airhose. Luckly it had the Mechanical Speed Controller, and the Receiver was wrapped in a balloon. I dropped a fresh pack in it and finished out the day on a good note, but I have never let a relative drive one of my RC's since!! LOL

Well my scarriest moment was whe i was driving my t2 just like a week ago and i was driving on some trails leading up a mountain, and there was a path and right next to it was a 20 foot drop down to a creek. I was driving right near it and my radio was glitching and floored it in reverse
and went right off the edge! that scared the crap out of me! i found a way to get down there and i see the truck upside down and i pump the throtle and steering and nothing! to my suprise it was right where the water had dried up for the summer so that was a relief! So i look at the truck and think, it looks ok! and it turns out that the only thing that happened is that my switch got turned to off!! big break there!
