does anyone make a simple tank chassis that uses 540s? most tanks i see are runnin those small 2xx or 3xx motors. and the high end tamiya tanks with 540s cost too much, lol. im not looking for scale realism, or even an included body, lol - just a tank chasssis that i can put some hot mod motors in, and with a wide range of gearing options. seems to me that such a vehicle would be much cheaper to produce than your average 2wd MT (stampede, blackfoot, and whatever kyosho is on now - hi rider pt 4 ! lmao (just a joke - kyosho fans dont flame me:-)) and would be unstoppable - TRACTION 4 DAYS. seems like traxxas would be the company to get this done......who agrees with me on this? i could build such a thing if i had more resources - ( how i envy the guy that built that awesome MT - BAD MONKEY JR - ohh, makin my own wheels, gears, cases, etc out of metal? - ohh, thats almost erotic, lol...ok...im getting too excited...)but anyway, who else wants such a beast of a tank?

Sounds like a "project" tank idea to me. Try building one, I think I may do that one of these days, although suspension may be tricky. :)

im looking for each motor to independently drive a tread. this will probably require 2 speedcontrols and a transmitter that can be switched to 2 vertical control sticks (or tamiya makes a module that allows tanks to be controlled in the conventional manner with a regular transmitter, but i dont think it can handle hot motors) but the emaxx has some special requirements (3channel radio, esc to handle dual 14.4 v motors) so if everything was packaged together, like the emaxx, novices wouldnt be discouraged. i dont think a tank would be of much use for jumping(a suspension would add major cost and reduce durability) or crawling, but for hill climbing and pulling it should be king. lol, what i would do to own a machine shop ! except work for it ! hehehe

Hmm, I got an idea, it may or may not work though. Myabe this is what those kyosho blizzards do, I don't know though, I've never seen one. You could take an axle set up from the back of some truck or buggy, install some kind of clutch the rubs against the right or left wheel, to stop that wheel from moving (this would be the steering, and you only need one motor). The differential (a gear would be the better choice), would still allow the other wheel to turn.
