Per Novak's website, they have the following part numbers for the 75 band XXL receivers:

2475F XXL FM, 75 Mhz (Futaba J)
2475S XXL FM, 75 Mhz (Sanwa/Airtronics)
2475K XXL FM, 75 Mhz (KO Propo)
2475J XXL FM, 75 Mhz (JR Propo)

What exactly is the difference ? Is it the physical plug template in the plastic ? Is it the elecrtical pin-out (+, -, and signal) ?

Thanks for any help you can give me ...

I have 2 of these Rx's. Novak stated that each Rx is specifically "tuned" for a particular brand of Tx so you must buy the Rx meant for your Tx.

That being said, I just got a smokin' deal on an XXL Rx ($50) but it was Futaba and I use a JR Tx. It works flawlessly and I never have glitching problems. Also, on my JR specific XXL, it has plug slots that will accept Futaba plugs so they're all built the same.

The main reason for the different types of XXLs is the plugs used, the reciever has to be cut to the right sizes at the plug spots so everything fits. From what i hera though otherwise they are the same (mabye a polarity change on the connectors though).

Distro,

I emailed Novak about this and they said that the Rx's are "tuned" at the factory to work with specific brands of Tx's and that if you buy one that is not made for your Tx, you might have glitching problems

My "Futaba XXL" and my "JR XXL" both have the exact same plug slots (Futaba style)

Thanks Big Wig.
I just wonder which one my LHS sold me ...
I have used it with 2 different brands of radios with no problem. Like I said above, I want to buy two more. So, I researched just a teensy bit to see what was out there (receiver wise) when I came accroos 4 part numbers for the same unit (the Novak XXL). The MOST interesting part is that the 27 band version of the exact same receiver has only one part number ! The AM version is the same way, 75 has four part numbers, 27 has one.
I have asked in the "Orange Room" about this. Hopefully they come back with a similar response as you noted, Mr. Big Wig :D

Same with the 40 Meg version - It's illegal to use the 75 Meg band in Australia, so we use 27, 29 or 40. I have an XXL 40 Meg, which also has only one type - it comes with the "industry standard" JR-style connectors. Which suits me, I use a JR radio and servos, and one Hitec servo which also fits the XXL just fine.

They are probably also tuned to work with the crystals for the brand you are using. I recently bought one that was Airtronics compatable for my Multiplex. I bought the Airtronics rx crystal for the receiver and have had no problems with it.
