HOW BAD DID I SCRTEW UP HELP SOS SOS PLEZZZZZZ

OK THIS IS WHAT HAPPEN I HAD MY TEMPEST HOCKED UP TO A MOTOR IN MY XXX AND ONE OF THE MOTOR WIRES CAME UNDONE AND TOUCHED THE OTHER ONE NOW THERE IS NO RED LIGHT (AND NO DAMM POWER) . ANYONE THAT KNOWS WHAT I SHOULD DO JUST TELL ME WHAT TO DO.. OR A DOLLAR AMOUNT SO I CAN GO TO THE HOBBY SHOP

You prolly need to buy a new Tempest.

you're screwed...whats that thing called? Reverse voltage protection? I think thats what happened...try a new motor in their...or ask someone if you can borrow their esc for a sec and see. One of three things can be broken. the Tempest, the motor, or (although highly unlikely) the reciever. try to put in a friends speed contol or a motor. Narrow it down. Email me at ftt3 for more help.

Been there done that. Hopefuly if you were as lucky as me with my Tempest a while back it should still be in working order. If your not so lucky i would look into a new ESC.

so what did you do to get it back online (tempest)
and thanks isky i will get started on that in the morning i have like 4 esc's and three receivers i am just happy it was not my lrp or my novak reciver that would sux

I just messed with it for a while...reprogramed it......and it also helped that i caught the wires just in time so there wasn't any bad damage done. It also just sat for a while with out being used. I think it has that think if something like that happends it protects it, don't know the correct term but i haven't had a problem with it since it happend. Just do what my good friend Isky said. If all else failes get a new ESC (you probably don't want to hear that) http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

My Tempest has been through heck and back and still is going strong....i feel lucky that i have had such good products besides the LPR Phaser reciver i had that pooped out on me. Just give it some time...if it still works and the light doesn't come on it probably just means the lights burned out.

That could be possible too...the light could burn out, although unlikely...just keep trying witht the Tempest you have. LED lights are designed to last for...well, and average persons lifetime and then some....thats more than what, 70 years? Unlikely, but with RC Cars ya never know!

If you cant get it to work you could send it to novak and have them fix it, because a tempest is still a good esc.

the tempest is discontinued but they might be able to exchange for something else,

Is it a Pro or Max? Novak will exchange a Max for a Max, but if it's a Pro you'll have to pay $55 for a Dually.

I bet it is still ok. Just reprogram it and check your solder joints. BTW, that LED will never burn out in ou lifetime, IMHO.

No. Why do you think that this would ruin the ESC anyway, guys? Doesn't all the current that comes back through the red motor wire go back into the battery anyway? I'm no electronics guru, so I think you should go to www.teamnovak.com (http://www.teamnovak.com) and ask Charlie on their discussion board.

TEMPEST UPDATE 2K1

WELL I HAVE GOT THE LED LIGHT TO COME BACK ON I HAVE TO USE A RECEIVER PACK AND PUT IT IN THE RECEIVER THEN THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON SO MY NOVAK RECEIVER WORKS AND MY SERVO AS WELL. TRYING THE MOTOR NOW POST BACK IN A FEW MINUTES (SO SLEPPY JUST GOT OFF WORK MIGHT DO ALL THIS FRIDAY) WAIT THATS TODAY
