Hey guys, I have recieved an e-mail from a "Val Cotsman", or valcotsman@home.com, with and attachement, names vcotsman(dot)zip(dot)com

I have a mail.com account, and my older brother, with a hotmail.com account, received the same message, that read:

Hi! How are you?

I send this file in order to have your advice

See you later. Thanks


My brother is part of a message board that deals with Knight Rider car conversions, and he recieved the same message, from KARRKNIGHT@aol.com, if any message like this comes into your box, delete it! Also, if you have a "Block Sender" option, use it.

At the other board that my brother uses, some guy suspected that it was a type of "Buddy Virus" that does something, and gives him information about something, but either way, he said he tried to send him a reply, and his box was full, and the message got returned.

Watch your backs guys!

Yeah...i recieved a message like that...i downloaded it but nothing happened!!Not sure if i did it right....maybe lucky for me that i did not do it right huh? :eek:

XXXER - this has NOTHING to do with the fact that you or anyone else is a member of the RC Zone. My email address isn't listed anywhere on the BB, yet I've received it twice, once through an email address that I've never given to anyone here or at work.

Again, IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FACT YOU'RE AN RC ZONE MEMBER!!!!!


Here's a note from our system administrator to everyone in the building (most of which aren't registered on the BB),

Please keep an eye out for a new virus that is doing the rounds. It is another one of those mass email ones, however this one does carry a sting in the tail. In most cases it brings an attachment with it. Please follow normal procedure and do not open attachments from email. The attachment will be a file taken from the sender's computer and will have the extension .bat, .com, .lnk or .pif added to it.
The message body will be semi-random, but will always contain one of the following two lines (either English or Spanish) as the first and last sentences of the message.

Spanish Version:
First line: Hola como estas ?
Last line: Nos vemos pronto, gracias.

English Version:
First line: Hi! How are you?
Last line: See you later. Thanks

Between these two sentences, some of the following text may appear:

Spanish Version:
Te mando este archivo para que me des tu punto de vista
Espero me puedas ayudar con el archivo que te mando
Espero te guste este archivo que te mando
Este es el archivo con la informaci=n que me pediste

English Version:
I send you this file in order to have your advice
I hope you can help me with this file that I send
I hope you like the file that I sendo you
This is the file with the information that you ask for

The subject of the email will be random but MAY contain the name of the attached file as part of it.

If you delete the message and do not try to open the attachment you will be fine. If you HAVE already tried to open an attachment like this please call me ASAP
