View Full Version : Damage from CA Glue
There is an article in the 1/96 issue of Car Action that says you should not use CA glue on the hard plastics in Tamiya kits because it makes the plastic brittle and causes cracks. Is that type of plastic used by other companies? How can you recognize the plastic that you should NOT use CA glue on? What are the things that you have ruined with CA glue? (Other than Mike Pags’ shoes.)
Let me be a little more specific. I do not own a Tamiya, I have a RC10 T3. Are there plastic parts on the T3 other than the Lexan body that will crack if I get CA glue on them? Why don’t wheels crack when you glue on tires? Aren’t they hard plastic?
what part of your T3 do you want to use CA glue on? try it on the edge of the part and see what happens...or if you have any composite(not plastic!)from the parts trees use it on that.

That' simple, the body isn't made out of Lexan, but it's like the Tyco and Nikko bodies. Hard plastiic. I don't recomend using them on Lexan either, it will also become brittle, my rear wing on RS4 Rally popped of not to long ago by just merely a tap! http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/eek.gif
