For anybody at RCCA....

You do a lot of project cars and trucks and i just want to know, what do you do with them all? Do you sell them or just add them to a big pile of rc cars?

They need to hold a giant R/C auction online for all their projects. They might as well make some money off the things, since all the cars (and Chris :p ) do is collect dust.

This question has been asked and answered about 100 times, but lets go for 101.

The cars are not sold. I am selling my FG car, but it's the exception, not the rule. I occasionally sell my personal cars and accessories that I buy at the hobby shop, but we do not otherwise sell cars that are featured in the magazine. We keep most of them. 9 times out of 10, they're canibalized for parts to use on a later project. On rare occasions, we have been known to "donate" a car to someone that's had one stolen, destroyed or otherwise disabled and can't afford to fix it - but NEVER to anyone that has asked for one.
Yes, we lock Chris in the store room on occasion; it's often the only way to ensure they won't get raced and damaged! :D

I don't know if any one of you notice how nice RCCA actually is. Like Steve said, they give cars to people that have had major problems or can't afford one". Also they give you great stuff if your in the" You said it" section of the magazine in the "Readers write". I'd say thats pretty darn nice, wouldn't you?

Yes I agree Phil. That is great that they do that. "Here, heres a free Novak Fusion, and a Speed Gems 2 Jade" Thats great. How many other magazines do things like that? I dont know of any, thats for sure.

Yeah they're pretty cool about that but if you notice that at the end of most letters that get into the mag the people say that they "love the mag" and "it is really cool." Just wondering if anyone else noticed that. Not that there's anything wrong with it :D

boy i could just imagine an auction for some so called "RCCA project cars" and considering people on like ebay are fricken weirdos,RCCA would end up making a pretty penny on them...personally i would never buy one. it takes the fun out of having something original that has never been done.

PS: how much you think chris would go for???

dragger...uhmm i only know of 2 RC car magazines. are there more?(RCCA and RC car)
but you are right....RCCA ships out some pretty expensive stuff. i remember they once sent some dude like an 11x2 chrome. first thing that shot through my mind was "gee this company must make alot of dough to ship one of those out" then i thought "i wish this was like skateboarding sponsorships where the sponsored kids through skate boards in the crowd" then the thought of ESCs and motors being thrown at a crowd made me laugh and i went outside ;) :p
