Well..in my CNC class..I made 2 xx-4 a-arms! They turned out great... All i gotta do left is drill the holes for the pins and screws... I will be making more stuff soon!

At least you'll know they'll be the only parts to survive a horrific crash!

Nice first CNC job, BTW!

See if you can find yourself a chunk of Delrin (a nylon like material) and make those arms in that. Delrin is a very tough material and not nearly as heavy as aluminum. Otherwise, nice first effort you go there. ;)

Good stuff, hows the satisfaction factor?
I bet you could sand em down a bit and polish them up to look real nice.

Just wondering what sort of alu is that, it looks like a fairly soft grade...

It was 6061 alum I was told. It was the "cheap" aluminum from my school.. Just 2in bar stock. Yeah, I milled this on a 2axis machine, so i had to manually control the drill depth and the start and stop. I had originally planned it to have a ton of cuts into it, and rounded edges, but unfortunantly i couldnt use the 3axis $100,000 mill!

Still is great for first job. You should of seen my first CNC project. I had no clue of feed rates and all. I broke 3 or 4 bits until I got it right. :)
