New stuff from Grand Motorsports, straight off the site at www.grandmotorsports.com. Drop by and tell 'em RC Car Action set ya!

This exciting new line of drag kits could be considered "entry level" or "low budget", but the fact is they are just very good performing drag cars at a very affordable price. These cars should be considered by new drag racers as well as veteran drag racers. The various uses for these kits range from street racing, to bracket racing, to being competitive in existing IEDA classes.

How about a new spec class that includes a National Championship and year-end prizes determined by a lottery drawing for all the participants that qualify, whether they are winners or not? Stay tuned for further details!

These cars feature:a strong G10 chassis, separate front body mount, hollow anodized aluminum front axle that has adjustable castor, ride height adjustment, traction and chassis droop adjustment, 4 point support rear end, real front drag rims and rear drag foam tires. The kit also comes with a Drag Car Body!

Another feature is that these kits will accept all the trick parts that the premium Grand Motorsports Pro Stock and GMS11 cars have, so you can upgrade easily!

I like to race paved and dirt oval cars, but we have a drag track that I have been going to and running my oval car. But after looking at this new chassis from Grand Motorsports its just what I been looking for and I love the idea of a spec class that will make it a total reaction time and driving class. And like many of us married men, we work from a budget to race so our wife's don't blow a gasket.
It will be a great to have a dedicated drag car instead of using a converted oval car. I really like the pro stock and pro mod bodies, so I have already placed my order and should be getting mine in a couple of weeks.

Ok, so you get a little piece of fiberglass, a couple of plastic parts, some music wire and foam wheels. All for the low low price of $99. Sheesh.
The price you'll pay for bearings will exceed the manufacturer's cost of the entire chassis. Good deal there!

Sorry guys. That was kind of harsh. Hope no one took any offense, it's just that I'm constantly amazed by some people's idea of "perceived" value.

I have NOT had anywhere near enough coffee yet, either!

I dunno des, this stuff adds up pretty quickly. Say $20 for the chassis, $20 for the body, and $25 for rear wheels, and you're already looking at $65. Factor in the rest of the components, packaging, instructions, a budget to market the thing, and hopefully a little profit so the company can stay in business, and suddenly the cost seems more reasonable--especially when it's a low-volume niche item.

You're right of course. I'm sure tooling is a HUGE expense that must be recovered somehow, and why go into business if you're not trying to make a living?

Just for the record, I received a very nice email from Mike @ Grand Motorsports that put things into a different perspective, so.......

Once again it's dunce cap on and off to the corner

When I wrote the above post I was in the process of paying credit card bills full of r/c parts charges and was suffering a little sticker shock. Certainly not Grand Motorsports fault, so again please accept my most humble apologies!
