One of my favorites - but you have to make sure the recipient has a good sense of humor and a bad set of shoes. About 12 years ago, A bud Mike Pags was racing with us, and we decided it was time to put one over on him. During his main, myself and another racer walked up to the elevated drivers stand (drivers feet were about at eye level). I snipped the top off a bottle of CA glue and proceeded to pour massive amounts of CA around the edges of his shoes. Meanwhile, my bud was dousing the fresh glue with some Zip Kicker. The glue got so hot from the catalytic reaction it was literally smoking. I was sure we'd be busted. Mike never noticed what we were doing because he was so closely focused on driving. Then, he stuffed his car into the boards, He got a little excited about the fact that the corner marshal didn't notice his stranded car, so he tried to jump up and down and yell to let the marshal know his car was stuck. Needless to say, the jump didn't go as well as he'd planned. He quickly noticed his feet weren't moving and fell on his butt because he couldn't move them in an effort to keep his balance. We apparently did a pretty good glue job because we had to chisel his shoes off the drivers stand. We had a real good laugh about it, and I think I still owe him another pair of Bobos to this day. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

A fun thing is to mess with the newbies, hey, just to an extent, you still need to be nice so that you do not end the racing career, but if you dye your springs, paint them, whatever, and they ask what color you use, tell them that it is a new "secret" color that you are trying for AE/Losi, It happened to me http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/redface.gif I was so emberassed, my friend Dyed some of his springs brown, and i was a gullible new guy racing, LOL, also, one thing another one of my friends did was he was polishing up his chassis on his buggy with WD40 for that nice black shine, and some kid asked why he was doing that, he said, "oh, makes it easier to clear the triple of course." LOL, i was dying, i played along, took his can, and my rag and started doing the same to mine, it was great.
Steve - YOU ARE EVIL!!! ..... lol

That glue post is the funniest thing I've heard happen to an R'C'er Have u ever tried the industrial magnets idea? That would be a good 1. Or try putting some good araldite (I dont know how its spelled) on the starting line, see how it takes off.

Ok what is araldite? What is it used for? This is NOT a dig on your spelling! I am just curious.

I have to give credit to Jay Halsey - he's the one who originally gave me the idea. He did the same thing to Steve Dunn. Just to give you an idea of how long ago this happened, Steve Dunn was running in the 4WD class with an AYK Radiant....

Here's one. About 8-9 years ago we had a group of racers from a local track (in CT) that got together to travel to different races in our region. One year we traveled to Englishtown NJ to attend a big race. Our friend Dave didn't do well all day and wound up in the "E" main. He was so upset he didn't even want to race and didn't get his buggy ready. Since he was so down on hid luck we offered to help him out and get his car ready for his main. He sat all bummed out on the bleachers waiting for his main. However in the pits we getting his car ready for what we thought would be the worst race of his life. Here is what we did to his car....
We slid both pre-load collars all the way down to the bottom on one side of the car and raised them to the top on the other side. We then took and hobby knife and proceeded to make cuts in every ballcup on the car. We tightened one front wheel nut so it barely turned. There may have been more stuff we did but it was so long ago I forgot.
Anyway Dave with his head down went to the driverstand since we offered to line his car up on the grid. The race started and Dave was in the lead, we were stunned, he was surely going to break a ball end....but nothing happened! With about 30 seconds to go he was in third and driving his best race of the day. Bummed that nothing happened to his car, we yelled to him that the race was over and why is he still driving (there was really 20 seconds to go now). He pulled off the track and started to walk off the stand only to find all of us at the bottom rolling on the ground laughing at him. He said "what"? We said the race isn't over, he ran back up but was to late to finish in the third spot and didn't get a trophy. He didn't talk to any of us for the 3 hour ride home.

SteveP is evil? No way- we can't be talking about the same guy. The one who always manages to grab the microphone away from the announcer and offers helpful advice over the PA while you're racing...hmm I recall a few of his from Y2K: "Hey Bob! you push the trigger forward for brakes" or always a favorite... "You're fired!!"
Hey Pond, next time you want me to be your pit beotch...Lean this!

Years ago at CEB in Marion, PA I saw all the A-Main regulars swap transponders for the main. Charlie, the track owner/race announcer got so confused as he looked back & forth between the scoring monitor & the track he just gave up at about the 1 minute mark. There were probablly 40-50 guys racing that day & everyone there but Charlie knew what was going on.

Ammoace: alradite is like a VERY strong industrial glue. I think itrs an epoxy type stuff (comes in 2 parts). Also theres this stuff called JB Weld I think that might be in th US. The only thing wrong with this stuff is it takes tooooo long to set (24hr fully cure)

If you have one of those less than observant friends, try switching the fuel line and the pressure line.
