Body: Pro-Line GMC Sierra LP .060 thick.
Paint: Tamiya Polycarb Cherry Red, Pactra Indy Silver (rattle cans)
Wheels: Hot Bodies Dagger

The Tamiya Cherry Red turned out a lot more pink than I expected. I told you guys a while back that my next shell would be pretty girlie looking ;)

I've all but sworn off rattle cans after doing this one. In spite of warming up the can and shaking the daylights out of it first, the Indy Silver kept coming out clear, then when the flakes finally started coming out, they came out with a vengeance. It took the entire can just to do the stupid "roll bar" bits so I had to back everything with what I had left of a can of purple.

you got a bad can of silver...I've had a few of those. :P The last one I got threw out some white goo then bits of silver chunks...i think it only happens to that color though...like the gas inside leaked out or something.

Sorry for the red X treatment or no pics showing. The host I use for pictures apparently is down again. I'm ready to rip someone's head off.

I also have pics up on RC Pics. I don't think I can remote link the pics to show up on here, but here are links to them on RC Pics:

Front (http://www.******.net/view_single.php?medid=52561)
Hood (http://www.******.net/view_single.php?medid=52560)
Left (http://www.******.net/view_single.php?medid=52562)
Right (http://www.******.net/view_single.php?medid=52563)

Sorry about the goof up, guys. Someone really hosed the pooch at that other host.

It's pretty cool. I would probably remove the roll bar and lower the body. Do you run on the street alot with those tires?

Hey kitty looks nice ;)

Im not sure what kinda red you were attempting but have you thought about using Tamiya Bright Red, Pactra Candy Red, and Tamiya White?

I have tested this on a wing and it came out perfect for the skyline i wanna do... the color looks like this...

That's quite the pink you have going there. Nothing says "girlie" like a pink body on an MT. :D

Q - I run on all surfaces, so the stock rollbar stays. I already have a rip in the sidewall of one of the tires, but it's been repaired with CA and rubber cement. I've never seen anyone using those and they were on sale so I thought I'd try out a set. They grip fine on clean pavement, but if the pavement isn't really clean like after a good rain, they're just like any other tire. They gripped fine in the dirt and on grass.

savagepicco26 - They load fine for me. If you can't see them, go to the main page for my pics there at http://www.******.net/member/Kitty/

Piglet - I told you it came out a bright pink! I'm okay with it, even though I was hoping for an actual cherry red (also answering TRF's question). Now that I'm all but completely finished with using rattle cans, I have an idea on mixing something along the lines of a black cherry colour for another shell.

I just need to stare at what colours I have for a few minutes and try mixing a few different colours on a paper plate with a toothpick to get the hue I want, then mix in a small mixing bottle to get the colour I want. I have a pretty good selection of colours now so I should be able to mix just about anything I want. Yeah, yeah, I know... (to Piggy) I need to get off my butt and start playing with the airbrush. I was going to today but something came up. You'll probably figure out when I finally get time (and correct temperatures) to fire up the airbrush when you don't hear from me for about three days ;)

BTW, that quite a striking contrast of pretty pink and hardcore metal underneath. I like it, it definitely says "this girlie will stomp your butt!", kinda like froo froo and fearless. Nice masking as well, good sharp lines. Was that done with LM?

I aint girle but thats a cool color 4 a "Savage". A pink "savage". Kind of defeats the purpose. doesnt it?

Heh Benny. Nah, it's kinda like how Piggy put it. In a way it reflects the duality of my own nature.

Piggy, thanks for reposting the pics. I could have sent you originals. The problem with jpg files is that once they are opened and anything is done to them, they degrade in quality. Wouldn't you know it, now the originals are working again. I guess he paid the hosting bill.

I haven't used my Dively's yet. I bought it after doing this shell. I used red masking tape I bought at Tower, made by Great Hobbies, I think. It's nice and flexible, has decent tack without leaving residue. I used 1/4" tape for masking off the silver area and just bought some of their 1/8" tape for doing stripes and other designs later on. I'm thinking about incorporating use of it with the Dively's. One small edge of the tape had lifted, but luckily I was able to fix it and it only shows when you look at the body really close in person.

That won't show for long anyway. I'm sure I'll scuff up the rest of it soon. ;)

Some of the best shades of color are found by accident. ;)
