Im stumped, does anyone have any suggestions...

I have a GP 1100 battery for my brushless 18T wired with 12awg and Deans plug. I can peak it, all cells read 1.30V and 7.9-8.1V total, BUT it wont put out any of that power. It always acts as if the pack is dead. Checked all cells under load (about 1/8 throttle) and they all read roughly the same voltage. Someone have any ideas for me??

Actually, if that's with a 6 cell pack, then the total pack voltage sounds kinda low, like it's not really fully charged yet. I usually see the same kind of voltages in mine(that I use in my XRay M18) that I see in my bigger 6 cell packs(of sub-C racing cells), which is around 8.9-9.5 volts at peak. When yours seem to peak, how warm are they cells getting? They should heat up just a little when they're fully charged(but not actually hot, just a little warmer than room temperature).....

I realize this is kind of obvious, however have you tried a different battery pack to make sure something is not wrong with the motor or speed control?

Have 3 other packs that work just fine, and Griz, these are 2/3A so they dont peak as high as a sub C

I know they're 2/3 A cells, & actually, they DO peak as high as sub-C(at least mine do). I know because I have an XRay M18 micro that uses those EXACT same cells(& I use 6 cell packs of them just like the sub-C packs for my 1/10 scale car), if they're charged at certain charge rates. In my case(using the KAN 1050 cells), I charge 'em at 2 amps on my Novak Millenium & they really do peak in the 8.9-9.5 volt range(the peak voltage tends to rise some as the pack gets older & its internal resistance goes up). As long as the packs you're using are 6 cell ones, the peak voltage you should see shouldn't be far off from that(but if you have 5 cell packs, then maybe the voltages you mentioned might be about right). Also, you haven't really said anything about just what you're charging them with(the charger, I mean), or at what charge rate you're using, or how long your packs are taking to peak, those things will also need to be taken into consideration....

my GP's peak around 9v too...

charged at 1.0 to 1.5 amps and they are warm when done (100*F+) Packs take anywhere from 25-45 mins to peak on a Superbrain 959

Ok, that does sound about right time-wise, & for temps that sounds ok too, so it would appear that the pack is peaking. But that brings up another possibility, maybe one of the cells is dying on you, it won't be easy to tell when it peaks, but if you discharge the pack & then take a reading on the cells, you may have an easier time isolating it(a bad cell will tend to read considerably lower voltage when discharged, & can even read 0 volts, while a good cell will recover its normal voltage after a load has been removed from it).
