Does anyone know of where to race in or around Brooklyn NY? Or would anybody in the area be interested in starting up a club or trying to find a place to race.

Email me Xtera03@nyc.rr.com

chevys10; that sounds cool. I would like to Set-Up a Track.

I`m from East New York, Brooklyn; and My Brother-In-Laws and I set-up a track in the school yard(P.S. 13) out here on Pennsylvania Ave - Livonia Ave.

We race 1/10 Electric Touring Cars.

Brooklyn Hobbies is mostly into racing Nitro.
I`m going to call East Coast Hobbies for track info.

I went to Floyd Bennet Field in Brooklyn last week and I had alot of fun. I broke a part on each of my cars but it was worth it. The track is pretty nice and they also have huge parking lots and an old runway! I put my CEN on the runway and gunned it, it was great!! I highly recommend you at least trying Floyd Bennet. Take the BQE to exit 11S (Flatbush Ave). Get off the exit and make a left, go down a little bit and it'll be on your left hand side. Getting in is kinda tricky the first time. To get in, go to the light before the bridge and make a left, then make another left when you get in. Follow that road, you'll see it. If you wanna go, I am probably going to drive there this weekend, depending on weather. Anyone from the NYC area, feel free to IM me and we can get together and go. My screenname is donaldduckrf. I'd like to go with more people, the more the better!

-Were there any Electric R.C. Car races?

Tell me what they run over there.

Weekends.....I Work on the weekends(I have to work harder on the weekends.....Ha Ha!).

If it`s a Weekend Thing; it`s No Good for me. I work on weekends.....and it`s harder for me to take a day-off my Part-Time Job than my Full-Time Job(weekdays).

Tell me more about the 1/10 Electric Races.
-Any 19-Turn Races?

Take Care.

Hey just found this thread, it's a bit old. But lets see if we can revive it. I live in Brooklyn, and been looking for some folks to bash with. I drive 1/10 electric, got an on-road and a T4. would love to find something going on, especially on weekdays as I work on weekends as well. Floyd Bennet is a little too far for me as i don't drive and live close to prospect park, and while I have seen some drivers around prospect and spoke to a few of them noone knows about any races.

I set-up a pretty Good Track in the P.S. 13 School Yard at Pennsylvania Ave and Livonia Ave in East New York, Brooklyn. I set-up the track on the Cooler Days(there weren`t many).

There wasn`t too many people there either. Only 2 other guys came to Race there Electric Cars. There`s alot of Nitro out there.....I`m not down with that.

I haven`t set-up the track in a few. It just got flat without alot more people.

Just to tell you: There aren`t ANY Places to Race Electric Touring R.C. in New York City. . . . .yet.

If you find a place; tell me/us.

yeah I'm figuring out this is a real crappy hobby for NYC, unless you have a car to drive to LI or Jersey

I totally agree with you abraksith. I`m not too big on In-Door Tracks so I don`t get many chances to alot.

I have fun checking - out new parts for my cars and getting them.

Remember; I`ll/We`ll be setting-up the Track again this Spring, Summer and Early Fall at the P.S. 13 School Yard at Livionia Ave and Pennsylvania Ave.

We run/race everything: Electric against Nitro and seperate Electric and Nitro Races.
-We have a Nice Paved, Smooth - Sweaped(clean) Track.
-FREE!

If you can`t get in the Floyd Bennet Track come to East New York.

Many things have changed over at Floyd. If you check the site they moved to a new spot on the lot. They AREN'T all about nitro as they've held electric races there in the past and are considering holding classes there. Due to the fact it will be a permanent class, many have said stock will not be run...unless maybe it was 12th pan stock with 6 cells...LOL. First of all we need people who plan on running in that class. No races will happen with two people. Regardless you are welcome to run on the track with an electric as one person did last sunday. Come to the site www.frracers.com

Hey welcome to the forums. No sry no tracks around there race the Mini's.

It`s basically 13-Turn and 19-Turn Electric at My Track; but when not enough people show up it`s turns into Electric vs Nitro.
-I don`t like the R.O.A.R Rules; so if they`re going with the R.O.A.R Rules at Floyd Bennet; that`s no good for Me.

It starts out with a guy using a Stock Motor.....He Races with Us.....He finds out he`s going too slow.....He get`s a better ESC and Faster Motor(or he just doesn`t come back).....Then he`s too fast and he`s crashing into everyone and the walls.....Ha Ha! It kills the fun.
-I/We want/would like to get things a little more organized.

About the Mini-Z`s and XMods; we don`t run them(I/We don`t own any either)..........but you can bring it/them. I set-up a Large Track; can those Little Cars handle it?
-I usually(only) set-up the track on Weekdays at 4p.m. Racing starts at 5:15p.m. until Sundown.
-I might set-up the track on Jun 1st.

Take Care.

ROAR makes the rules to make it fair. That way we don't have people pissin n moaning about someone running a .15 vs a .12, or stock vs mod. Pretty much since the track is big they may only run mod, but it's YOU the elec guys to make this happen. If you want to race and enjoy a great track that starts things off at 9-10am in the morning, join up and register. If you don't want to, so be it. Just don't say there's no place to run them now and one place is all about nitro. Talk to Kcrunch aka Rick about running electric. The track is ready to go and it is organized racing...not noobs verses pros on the track. There is a class for every type of car, and lvl for every type of driver. Rules keeps things in check and what makes it more fun for everyone.

I understand what you mean Saboteur. I`m/we`re trying to get a little more organized at our track also.

Any Weekday Racing going on at Floyd Bennet? I can`t Race on the Weekends because I work all day Saturday and Sunday.

Unfortunately they keep it to the weekends since most work weekdays. The track is open though weekdays to the public. Just we gotat keep things clean there and no offroad trucks are allowed on the track.

I'm from Queens, Kew Gardens and bash on woodhaven park, Tell me how to get to east new york ps.13, I have both electric and nitro. although my electric is setup for drifting, can you take the J there? Wednesdays?

GuyIsDamGood
06-12-2006, 06:17 AM
You can take the J - Train to Broadway - Junction and then take the B20 or B83 Buses to Pennsylvania and Livonia.

-I/we should be setting up the track this Friday(June 16th) at 4p.m. Racing should start(after sweeping the area) at about 5:30p.m. and it ends at Sundown.

- -Remember; sometimes we can`t get access in the school(NYPD really don`t want anyone in the yard after school hours.....but we try. They`re starting to give us problems on just being in there); and that makes it Hard to charge our Batteries. Bring CHARGED Batteries; 5 would/should be enough.
--You get what you pay for.....Ha Ha!
