Hello, I am an inventor, last summer I came up with a type of magnetic gear transmission that I am in the process of patenting. I have been looking around for possible uses for this invention of mine and I realized that RC cars may be a good vehicle for it. (no pun intended)

The advantage of this invention is that it transfers motion like a normal gear train, but there is no contact between the wheels. Because of this the gears could be easily changed manually using only a servo, no clutch.

I was wondering how useful the RC community would find this, any comments would be helpful. Any suggestions about what would make it most useful would be highly appreciated, (gear ratios that people want, other options that should be added, etc.)

Sounds interesting...I'm sure that if you build like a prototype and show people how it works and stuff and its no too expensive we might think about it. I guess you couldnt show pics or anything cause its no patented?
But when you patent it and stuff let us know...sounds interesting!

im curious about how this works and why it works. i hope you get that patent soon. id like to know more about it such as what the stuff is made of, and..quite a few other questions. its a magnificent idea though! and if it works too i may even buy it if it is in my prive range (i dont doubt it works, its just i need to see things before i believe them. i wouldnt believe that you can control a car without touching it either, but ive seen it, and have one too). all the same, well done!

You'd have to look into the most popular/Top selling RC's on the market and take alook at how their built sadly theres No universal transmission Basicly every RC companys vehicles are put together differently..

I think its a good Idea although I wouldnt mind a List of pros and cons.
comparing your Magnetic transmission to the Centrivical 2spds were used to seeing..

I think this is a very unique idea. Now if it could gain some race crd thatn i think even more people would buy it.
