I might get a gt in a couple of months but I'm afraid if I do the gt 2 will come out soon afterwards. Should I still get it? BTW the only way I know that they might come out with a gt 2 is because is because of the t truck series...first there was t then t2 and now t3,then gt and so on and so forth, get it?

Probably AE would make RC10GT 2 but I dont think so. But you see that you can upgrade your RC10GT to RC10GT2 like AE created RC10B3 upgrade kit for RC10B2 by the way price is not that bad. My guess AE would not make RC10GT2 pretty soon. AE is done with new RC10GT Team Built Kit, RC10GT RTR so I can say AE is done with RC10GT and AE is focus to Nitro TC3. ;) What the heck AE never create Nitro RC10GB (Gas Buggy)?

You are right, but, if ae makes a conversion kit to change a gt to a gt2 then that means only a minimum number of parts will change. Why make a whole new car or buy one for that matter, if it only has a couple of parts changed?

Because AE create whole car kit which it have couple parts changed is for newbie who want to buy r/c car for his/her first time. As expert rc racers, they dont need complete kit, they just want to upgrade the parts.. Parts are absolutely cheapest price. Upgrade is important for you like for example you built your computer and upgrade new motherboard is best idea to not buy new computer with whole parts. Save more $$$$!! ;)

Associated isn't going to be making a GT2 any time soon. Buy a GT and enjoy it. As it is right now, they just updated the truck like 10 months ago so it would be kind of dumb for them to make a new truck. Plus they have been really busy with the Nitro TC3 recently. IMO the GT as it is now will be around for atleast another 3 years. At that time it will probably get another upgrade. Just look at the original GT and look at the GT of today. The only things they share are the tranny, exhaust, and a few other plastic parts. I would expect another upgrade kit way before I expected a totally new gas truck from Associated. Plus as long as the GT is winning and kits are being sold I'm sure AE isn't going to change/discontinue anything.

The gt has been out for atleast 5 years, it's about time though.

Well, since the Nitro TC3 is pretty much done, development wise, they are definately focusing on something.
If I were to predict a new engineering effort, it would be a new electric buggy/truck
But, AE has suprised us (me at least) every single time, so who knows !

WHY WOULD THEY MAKE A B4 or T4 IF THEY ONLY HAVE A GT1 !!!!!! DO YOU GET THE MESSAGE?!?!?!?!?

Just because two GTs have the same name doesn't mean they are the same truck. The current GT is absolutly nothing like the GT of 1993, when it was first released. The only parts they would share would be the nose brace tubes, rear bulkhead, front bulkhead, exhaust, fuel tank, and tranny and that is it. AE has been constantly updating the truck but they just never renamed it. The nice thing about the GT is though that you can have a 1993 GT and if you want to update it to today's standards you could with relative ease since all the parts would fit.

I think RC10GT Team Updated Kit is good enough for me. Blue parts are not important to me. My favorite color is black. :p If your favorite color is blue then you are glad to get Factory Team... Good luck! ;)

I was thinking about getting the team-built.AE says its an rc10gt team but it is built. My equipment would be a picco .12 engine and a jr xr3 radio. Wait, wait, wait! The rtr gt comes with a .15. Will a .15 picco fit?!?!? :) :p :D :D

yup, any .15 would fit, even a .21, with all the new aluminum parts out for it. Go here for a bunch of parts for a .21 GT www.neweramodels.com/agt207.htm (http://www.neweramodels.com/agt207.htm)

Portlander is absolutely right! You would try .21 engine on RC10GT...and it full of madness. You would surprise how angry RC10GT with .21 engine. Oh man.. 1/10th scale with .21 engine could be awesome like as 1/8th scale which always come with .21 engine. Enjoy your BLASTING with .21

So you are saying I could put a picco .21?SICK!!!! What modifications would I need to make it fit or to not tear the tranny apart?

I knew that RC10GT RTR come with .15 engine. But I heard .15 engine could not fit non RTR. But Team Built?? I dont know... Maybe Team Built would fit with .15 because Team Built is newest as RTR. Like you said you consider to get Team Built kit.. It is absolutely good idea and cost $199.99 for good. I suggested you need to post your message in www.rc10.com (http://www.rc10.com) to ask them and make sure. That will be no more confusion. ;)

Portlander, the link does not work. Do I need a .21 conversion kit to make a .21 fit?

Should I stick to a .15? Or will a .21 be no hassle at all?

That is your choice to use .15 engine or .21 engine. IF you want .21 engine attach to RC10GT then you have to order parts in www.neweramodels.com (http://www.neweramodels.com) but this url is not working. I think they are fixing and updating in www.neweramodels.com. (http://www.neweramodels.com.) .15 and .21 should not be problem. You can use .15 or .21 but .21 is pretty faster and .21 is using for 1/8th scale cars, but lucky New Era Models design RC10GT to able work with .21 engine. wow 10th scale comes with .21 engine!! that is awesome!!!!!!! But you need to saving up more money for .21 engine kit for RC10GT. Good Luck. :) ;) :p

Does anyone else make a .21 conversion for the gt?
nitrodriver

There's no need to put a .21 in an RC10GT. It will hit around 50 mph with a .12 cv-r, and a .15 cv-r would be insane. It's a car made for racing, not insane speed runs. It could probably handle a .21 engine, but it was made for .12 racing. If you want a car to go 70 mph, get an onroad 1/8 scale car.
Portlander

yeah, I don't know why the link isn't working, but I was actually just kidding, about the .21, it really is insane. But, FYI, the first problem you would have is the spur gear melting, solution, steel gear form robinson racing. second, entire tranny case and gears melting from extreme friction and speed, solution, more steel and aluminum gears from robinson racing, and an aluminum tranny case from some company (not sure which, there's an little thing about one in the recent issue of rc nitro). third, because of the insane acceleration of a .21 in a 1/10, your dogbones or CVDs would literaly twist, solution, accelerate slowly!! but in less you have about $1000 for a project that might blow up, don't try it. and who ever said that a .15 only fits in a RTR is wrong, all parts except for the front bumper (and a few other parts) are exactly the same in the RTR as in the T or FT. But .12 are used more often because they are race legal.
Portlander

I kinda read in more detail about what people are saying, they act as if a .21 would slide right in, but I can't stress enough that a .21 would literaly tear a GT's rear end apart.
!!!!!DO NOT GET A .21 IN A GT!!!!!

So stick with a picco .12 right? Can I use a picco .15 safely without many mods?

all .12 and all .15(unless for some reason it has insane horsepower for a .15) will fit into a GT, thats what it's made for the .12 picco is probably your best choice, gas efficiant, race legal, and since .12 are race legal, companies spend more time making them really good, so stick to the picco .12, sorry if the .21 thing confused you. :(
