When is the ideal situation on using a high torque servo? Is one preferred on the throttle or the steering. I would say the steering.
The reason I'm asking is because I plan on getting a mtx-2 and it reccomends one. I also plan on getting a monster truck. Are they needed on there too?
Thanks

Well, a high torque servo is needed only by preference. It's mostly common on Monster trucks and Off-road vechiles.
Monster trucks because they have to turn those big tires and also because it might be a little heavy.
Off-road cars need it because they go pretty fast and need something to turn it so it doesn't have a lot of understeer. They basically need the holding power.
Other than that, on a touring car a good oz/sec servo is about 100-120oz/.10-.08sec.
The throttle usaully has more speed than oz. for a quicker throttle response.
I use a 110oz/.10sec Hitech servo in my RS4 Nitro Racer2, it does just fine with O.S. CV-R .12 at 45mph. Has the turning and Holding power that I need. My USA-1 Nitro has a 200oz/.13sec also does very good.
I think is all about preference, if the kit acually recommends a torquey servo, then do it. Who knows better than the manufacurer. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/cool.gif
