Everyone at the new track I'm planning on racing at runs the Monster Horsepower in 12th scale stock, but I chose the P2K2 because of its high torque. I thought it would be best for the tight roadcourse I'll be racing on. Is either motor better for a specific job or is the Monster Horsepower just better over all?

How "tight" are we talking here? No it's not an overall better motor. It is true, one's a torque motor and the other is an RPM motor. I'd even start 3 teeth smaller spur if I was swapping from p2k2 to a monster stock! Get both, try both! I always keep atleast 2 of each around.

some tracks you could run either BUT you must gear accordingly. It also depends I think on how tight your diff is too. When I go from p2k2 to monster I tighten the diff a little for a little more torque that way.

Tightening your diff cannot give you more torque.

The P2K2 is generally regarded as a torque motor while the Monster is more of a RPMish motor. You can go fast with both, just, as it was said above, gear accordingly.

The reason he is doing that is torque is lower on the monster he is slipping the p2k2 because he is too loose coming out of corners with the p2

The P2K2 is still the most powerfull stock motor out there, short or long track it will keep pace with anything else.

Yeah, I noticed that was happening to me the other day at the track.
