I found this on ebay is it the right thickness for a chassis piece. Nothing to serious just an xxx-t back plate.

It's 0.16" so thats around 4mm thick, which is just about normal for aluminum fab work. Most aluminum chassis are 3-4mm. It should work out great.

i was thinking of making chassis pieces too with aluminum. ive already made steel skidplates for all suspension arms and i was wanting to make the front skidplate out of aluminum and maybe the rear pivot plate out of aluminum also. everybody post pics of all your homemade metal parts here. i need ideas.

I made a pivot plate out of lexan the other day, but I dont trust it. Just going to aluminum for the extra insurance. And the rest of my truck is aluminum already so the only piece I wont have will be the main chassis, rear shock tower, front kickplate, and bulkhead. Thanx for the replys.

I bought some aluminum from that same guy last week. 12x24x.160" I'm going to use it as a chassis for my e maxx.

heres some new makings of mine. the front skid is made from 1/16 inch aluminum the front and rear arms along with the wheelie bar is made from 1/32 inch steel...

now you have to counter sink all the holes for the screws right? or are there any with a emaxx

I haven't even drilled any holes yet. I millled the front down to .100 and I'll be doing the rear once my friend machines me an adaptor. I'll counter sink the holes when I drill them.
