hi there rc racers! i have a hpi rs4 pro3, my goal is to make a extremely fast car just for straightaway race. im thinking of getting the 8 turn revolution motor. any experts out there know what pinion and spur gear i should use. i want to be able to punch it from the start and not have it spin out. the race will be on asphalt and about 75 feet long. i have a cyclone (purple sticker)esc. i dont care about my run time....i just want a super fast car for straightaway races. any tips or opinions apprieciated! my tires are 2 and a half inch diameter and 1 inch wide.
thanks ahead of time!

I would reccomend an 8 turn triple. This will expand the power across the power band and not be so punch on the low-end. It'll prevent you from breaking the tires free at the start. As far as gearing goes i would get a few different sized pinions and see which ones work best. As long as the motor is not overheating and you are getting nice performance it wont matter. Plus if it is just a straightaway run and you are not running for very long you can probably get away with gearing it a bit higher than reccomended to gain a higher top speed. Here's a good motor that i would reccomend http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCSW2&P=7 Reedy makes awesome motors and you definitely can't go wrong with them. You said you wanted an 8 turn revolution motor but Team Orion does not make an 8T triple in the V2 series. I personally would go with a triple if i were just drag racing because it seems like it would make sense. Hopefully you'll get some more input on someone who has a bit more experience with drag racing but hopefully this will help you get started a bit. good luck man and let us know how it goes.

thanks for your help tc3. hay you think if i just put niftech, or paragon....im not sure if these are the right names, but its that liquid you put on your tires to make them more sticky. if i put these on my tires would that give me the traction i would need so i dont spin out when i punch the throttle off the line if i got that 8 turn double. that motor you recomend looks very coo..but more on the pricey side.
