build your own boat has anyone built a rumrunner V kit buccaneer 21-25 how are they ? how to set up motor drive hardware wire or flex want to build 1st elec race boat 12 cel ? help me !

if that's the boat you want...get some fuller's 12 cell mono hardware. since you're going for 12 cells, go ahead and spend the extra $$$ on a brushless motor setup. they're practically maintenance free. i have only a little FE experience myself, so i'm just telling you what i would go with. surface piercing drive is the only way to go. you might want a flex drive instead of wire...but i'm not sure. check out these places for gear to set it up:

that should get you started. another option outside of brushless is a cordite 700 motor. you could run it with an rc-hydro's ESC ( http://www.rc-hydros.com/ ). those are just a few ideas from an electric noob who spends more time looking for gear than actually running it.

i saw the fun you had with blizzard sorry it hurts to lose a boat $$$$ thanks for tips thinking of a smaler wild thing RCBM plans have scratch built before

there's a guy on another forum with a 14 cell brushless wild thing. it is GORGEOUS!!! but to start out...small is probably better. there are also hulls like the electrified and el lobo that are meant for 6 cell use, and a bigger el lobo for 12-18 cells.
