I have a T2 and a GT. If I use rubber sealed bearings and seal the case with RTV can I fill the tranny with silicone diff fluid. If I can completely seal the tranny will the diff fluid work OK with the stealths ball diff.

That would be a bad idea. The trannys are designed to work dry. The silicon would probabally get gummed up after a while. And why would you want to do that?

If you're going for 1 min run times, and burned up motors, fill it on up! If you want 30 second run times, try 80wt manual tranny gear oil. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

malici - what are you trying to accomplish? Let us know, so we can try to offer some advice.

I've heard of (but not seen) people adapting Schumacher's Visco-Drive onto the Stealth Tranny, perhaps that will do whatever it is you are trying to do.

I was looking for a way to have constant lubrication of the grars and bearings in the tranny. Maby diff fluid is way to thick for the trannys but maby some thiner shock oil will work. Like 15 or 20wt. I don't know that's why I ask.

No, you don't need to put anything into the stealth trannies. The material the gears are made out of is self-lubricating. I have one thats 2 years old and it gets used constantly. I've never put anything in there. When I open it up everything looks like its new.

why didnt u ask this in the nitro forum.....?

the only reason ,that u would use any oil in the diff ,is if u had gone out and brought tha alloy diff gears..

I have a T2 that I've run constantly since '97 with the original tranny gears in it. Never lubed, never had any problem.

Don't use anything on the gears in the transmission - except of course in the differential. Assemble the diff as per the instruction manual. Other than that, the tranny neads no lubrication.

The first time I assembled my tranny, I used a bit of grease on the gears. It ran fine, but then I heard that the tranny is supposed to be assembled with no lube on the gears. I rebuilt it with no grease, and what a difference. It is much smoother, and faster
