if you're shooting for "higher end" cars, ya might wanna check out the trf415, xray t1 factory kit, tc4, losi xxxs g+, schu mi2, and of course the pro 4. if you're gonna race it, id say buy a shaft car (namely, the pro 4), but thats just my opinion. i like hpi.

Those were all great cars. You could also wait for the new Yokomo belt drive car that is coming out pretty soon. Sounds like it will be a "supercar" so to speak but it sounds as if it will be very pricey.

First and foremost, see what you can get parts for. Easily. What good is it if you have to wait 2 weeks for parts.
I have owned a Pro4 and the G+ XXXS. The Pro4's drivetrain is supersmooth, the chassis is stiff, and there is minimal slop once assembled. I just don't car for purple stuff. Hara's been doing very well with this car.
The Losi is a proven design and can be had for much less money. The drivetrain does have a little more drag, and the tolerances once assembled allow for a little slop. However it is still capable of winning on any day.
I've driven and worked on an Xray T1M ( 1/12 version of the T1 ) which is the same car, only smaller. All I can say is the car is built like a tank, is smooth, tight, however it is expensive. Parts may be difficult to obtain as well, and you'll need saddle packs.

The Pro4 is an awesome car, but make sure your LHS stocks parts for it. If they don't, I'd look into a different car.

The Pro 4 is an awesome car - no doubt. To be honest, you'll be happy with any of these pro cars. What you need to consider is price, durablility, parts availibility, and ease of use. For touring cars, the Pro 4 is well priced and comes with anything and evrything you would need to race. For instance Hara's car is just about bone stock and he placed 2nd in the World Championships. It is also easy to work on and will sustain a decent beating. If this is your first car or you aren't every experienced, the Pro 4 may be too fragile. The graphit componets flex less than the composite ones and will break much easier under hard crashes. Also to consider is the other equipment you'll have to buy to run the car (reciever, transmitter, ESC, motor, etc...) Again, if you are a newbie, a good RTR like the Losi XXXS or Associated TC3 may be the best route for you.
Good luck. :)

Are you planning to race it or just drive it around your street?
I was going to get the pro 4, but I wanted a car that could easily run on the street, so i got a tc4. The tub chassis allows it to easily fend off rocks and other things that the pro 4 can't handle well because of the flat chassis. The woven graphite also will chip and break easily on the street.
So if your going to race, get the pro 4, but if your going to "bash" but still want to race, get the TC4. Parts are easily found for it and it easily upgradeable. Good luck on your decision!

heres the best part about a t1r...it has a tub chassis, and its stiff as hell!!!! it allows no tweaks, so its great to even run on carpet.....the bmi chassis would be wonderful if you wanted to race carpet, but if you want to race pavement, keep the tub chassis on!
evaderracer....i bought a tc4 before i bought my t1r, and it was HORRIBLE!!!! parts avail. wasnt a problem ....the problem was set up and ease of use...
my dual belt xray was WAYY more efficient that the shaft drive of the tc4. i always liked team associated, but xray is way better quality, and you dont have to worry about parts availability, because you wont break anything on this car (unless your a complete moron, or are simply a hack) the xray was the best choice i have ever made...too bad i HAVE TO SELL IT!!!
if you know of anyone who wants it i am willing to take as low as 300. shipping i will pay.!

I'm not trying to bash X-Ray or HPI or anything I like both the cars, especially the T1, I was just offering NovakMan another option, he wanted to know what car he should get, so I suggested one. No need to get mad about anything. :)

There are so many choices for touring cars right now that it is hard to choose from. Whatever you choose, you will probably be happy with it. My suggestion is the T1R since I have one and its the best car I've owned.
