I know it would be expensive, and I have no intention to try, but is it possible with todays endless amount of aftermarket bits
and pieces to build a car from just hop-ups.
Maybe a TC3 or HPI Pro 2 with no original parts.

Maybe a T-Maxx. There are tons of hop ups for those (T- & E-)

RCCA just did an "Ultimate TC3." It wasn't the last issue, but the one before it (July?). Pretty much the only things left were the body mounts.

Did they replace the stealth tranny case on that tc3? http://www.plauder-smilies.com/tales/jestor.gif

I know Megatech makes a lot of aluminum for the T/E Maxx and TC3. You could probably build one up from just hop-ups if you exclude servos, linkage, etc...

I'm not sure, but I don't think anyone's tried to replace the original tranny covers(also applies to the lower half of the tranny casings), but that may be the only thing not available as an aftermarket part..... :)
