I think you can narrow it down to two potential causes. First, check the idle speed screw. It should be set to allow the engine to idle at a a high enough speed to keep the engine running without the cltuch engaging. If you're satisfied that the idle speed is set properly, lean out the low-speed mixture screw on the carburetor. It's the one in the end of the carburetor closest to where the throttle linkage attaches. Turn it clockwise about 1/8 of a turn at a time until the engine idles at a consistent speed for about 20 to 30 seconds.

Good call Steve !! Also, check the throttle trim setting on your controller. If you have it adjusted into negative trim (adjustment knob turned past mid point countercloclwise). It will activate the brake assy and drag the motor down to a stall. Good luck !!

I got my rustler started as iam slowly driving it around it has a stalling problem as long as iam on the gas no problem but when i let off to turn aroung it dies, and i have to rev it up a little to keep it running after it started?
