I have searched online, but I am still extremely confused when it comes to gearing my T3. I have a Speedgems extreme 15 turn motor and I am trying to determine a decent gearing setup for bashing around my driveway and going off road a little bit. I would rather have it slower than push the motor too far. Any help would be greatly appreciatied.

I have a 16t speed gems chrominum in my t3. My gearing is 19/87. So I would say try a 18 tooth pinion first.

That is actually what I am at, odly enough. I am at a pinion of 18 and a spur of 87. Throughout the run, I checked the motor to make sure that it did not get to warm. It seemed to work extremely well. It stayed nice and lukewarm and the battery lasted a long time. I think that I am good... :D

i ues a 19t pinion with a 86t spur with a 15t reedy motor, works very well good balance of acceleration and top speed.

Are you serious? That is higher than what i am using. Isnt your motor really hot after each run?

It's actually running perfect. I don't get it. Batteries nor motor are getting hot.

Wow thats wierd.
these motors you can adjust the timing correct? May be how you have the motor timed as well.
Also, if you are finding the motor coming off cool after a bash session ( which runs longer than racing ), you probably could go up a tooth or two. Try going up one tooth, run it for 5 minutes and see how the motor feels.

Go here and get educated on how to gear properly..
