Acetone is a strong solvent used to clean up polyester resin, epoxy and other adhesives. Some people use it to soften the glue to get tires from thier rims. It is EXTREMELY FLAMIBLE and the vapors are harmful , use CAUTION when useing this stuff. You can get it at your local hardware store.

It can be used to remove tires, but you have to be careful that it doesn't effect your wheels. Some wheels can soak in acetone for days with no damage, others can melt or become brittle. Test it out on wheels you don't really need first. And be careful - what Walter said.

I have heard that AE wheels do OK in it, so I asume that my T2 wheels will be alright.

Just as a suggestion for dismounting tires.
You can use Super One safety solvent which is available at your electrical supply house. Cost about $12.00/gal.
Non Flammable, easy to use. Won't make rims brittle.
