Team Losi now offers the first real racing tire for their LST Monster Truck. The LOSA7650S “Super King-Pin” 160x85mm tire is a purpose designed and built racing tire similar to all of Team Losi’s world famous 1/10 scale tires. The tread pattern is a proportionally larger “King-Pin’ design that has proven so successful on both packed and slightly loose track surfaces. The full size 160mm diameter is perfect for the stock gearing and offers additional side bite as well as superior traction and control in the rough or ruts. The Super King-Pin is made with Team Losi’s exclusive “Silver” rubber compound for the best combination of grip and extended wear. These awesome monster racing tires fit all 85mm rims and include precision cut firm foam inserts that have been developed especially for the larger monster truck tires. Look for these and all genuine Team Losi racing accessories at hobby shops and racetracks worldwide.

For starters, general consensus says low profile is the way to go!

I suspect Mr. Pond, that they are refering to the height of the sidewalls and the roll that they might allow. Of course how much roll will depend on how stiff the sidewalls and foams are. The tread pattern is almost interesting enough to make me want to try them out on the MGT. So, is the 85mm rim something that's LST specific, or does it refer to anything that's T-maxx size? Maybe 40 series, or is it the same as the stock MGT size rim?

The original Bow-Tie's wern't low profile and they worked well. Why not these?

I dont really care about the sidewall. I'd buy these tires for racing ANY DAY. Theyd be great for loamy tracks

That's what I suspected, but in response to the original comment, that doesn't make the tire "suck" at all. I've raced on tracks where the taller sidewall tires run better than the low-profile tires - it's just a matter of track conditions and being open-minded enough to think outside the box - low profile tires don't ALWAYS work better. If you race on a high bite track and these tires don't suite the conditions, it doesn't mean they "suck," it just means they're meant for different conditions. It also means there's no reason to post that they "suck."
I suspect they're referring to original Maxx-size wheels (which are technically a couple millimeters smaller than 85mm, but close enough). Revo wheels are 97mm and I don't recall the diam. of the 40 series, but they're a lot bigger than 85mm as well.

:) Don't you see the trend and the wants from most RC car people? It's about time to have some fun with your "scale" model car with a realistic look and good performance. How about some tires that will allow me to pump in some air and adjust the tire pressure for different conditions of the road and weather? ;) Gee... I'd better call my tire factory and start making them :D
The Losi Bead-lock does look kind of interesting too.....
too bad there not actual "bead-lock" rims, rather bead-lock "look"!!

those rings come with interchangable rings. Blue, gold, red. I dont think they are real beadlocks like the maximizer ones
As for the rims sucking. I just meant that its a pretty big side wall and I can see alot of flexing when hitting turns at high speeds especially with the weight of the lst behind it

I don't think they are either or else losi would of made a big deal about them being bead-lock rims too. Plus look at the tire, no scretch marks or signs that they are being held on my beedlock. You can tell by the way the tire hits the rim if it's glued on or held down. Hope that made sence.

Damn losi I emailed them 2 weeks ago asking about these tires, geuss they didnt want to give me the jump on information.Personally I would have like to have seen them in red compound but ill still by a set cut them to mount to hurricane rims and use them on my undergeard revo.

Those tires come with special hard foams. Richard T posts this info on RCU. Those wheels are NOT real bead locks. They are only made to LOOK like real bead locks. Which would be ok if they didnt COST the same as a beadlock wheel. Anybody found these tires listed online yet? I dont see them on Horizon, or Nitrohouse.
those are actually real beadlocks
actually there not, sorry....
losi's add is VERY misleading!

I got whooped by Losi again. I bought threaded shock rings before I bought the thread shocks and it turns out they're already included in the shock body package.
I just bought some firm foams for the Super King Pins and find out that the firm foams will be included.
I just know that after I buy the graphite chassis plate, they will reverse their previous decision and release a team kit.

^^^LOL
There is a way to get around buying the shock adjuster rings twice. If you buy the shock bodies seperately they don't come with the adjuster. Only the complete set comes with the adjusters.
As for the foams, that bites.
I doubt Losi will bring out a kit version of this truck, or if they do it will probably be a ways down the road. I could be wrong...but I really don't see them doing it. Maybe though...it certainly would be cool.
As for the comments on the massive sidewall, I agree 100% with Steve here. For many conditions, having a sidewall is beneficial. On a rougher track for instance 40 Series Bowties are gonna carve like crazy and most likely make a truck more responsive, but over little bumps the suspension is going to have to do all of the work because the sidewall is too short to flex. This makes it harder to set up the truck for the entire track because not only do you have to worry about bottoming out over the double, but if you can put power down on the bumpy back straight. A taller sidewall like this will soak up a lot more irregularities than a short sidewall tire. Low pro's may be all the rage, and they certainly have their advantages, but they're not ideal for all conditions. I don't see an CORR trucks running 22's...do you?
Also, if you've never driven an LST, even the stock tires don't have much deflection in the turns. Ya, you'll get some lean obviously, but considering they're well over an inch taller than standard MT tires, but run the same size rim, they do exceptionally well in the stability department. I've only got 4 tanks through my LST so far, but I've been very very impressed with the tires. They dig in hard and don't flex nearly as much as you would think they would given their sidewall height and the weight of the truck. Losi really did an awesome job with the tires on the truck. These tires should do even better than the stockers. Awesome job Losi, awesome job.
BTW- LST's ROCK! :D :D

I ordered a set of the bead lock rims but how do bead lock rims actually work. It looks like these rims just screw the tire on.

As was stated earlier, the Losi Beadlock rims are not real beadlocks. It's a beadlock style wheel. The ring uses screws to attach to the wheel but you'll still need to glue the tires. I think the packaging was labeled incorrectly because Rich T from Losi stated that it was their intent to label them "Beadlock Style Wheel".

So you still have to glue the tires on to the Rim? Can you reuse the rims?

Nope, quads use tracks for their movement.

I meant bling rims. Obviously those aren't made for functionality, they're made for looks.
And no, the rims don't look like the Losi's, but the outer edge looks almost exactly like the Losi beadlocks.

theres that thing called a revo, the suspension can handle all of that no problem ;)
